This guide outlines how to configure Bepoz Mews Interface. The interface extends the Bepoz Advanced RMS (RMS Server) application to query the Mews API for guest data and send POS room charges to Guest accounts in Mews.

Prerequisites
The minimum Bepoz version must be 4.6.1.5 or later.
Required information from MEWS via the Customer
Specific Mews settings are required to be obtained from the customer, these settings include what level of detail they would like to send to Mews and also the relevant Mews Account codes that the charges from the POS will be posting to.
Send Type - How they would like to send data to New Book, there are three options:
- Sort Groups – Room charges from the POS will be separated by Sort group and sent to Mews.
- Type Group – Room charges from the POS will be separated by Type group and sent to Mews.
- None – Room charges from the POS will be sent as a total to Mews.
Account Codes - Depending on the send type the customer will need to advise what account codes should be used to post transactions to. The Mews Acc Code field is enabled when the send type is none and is the default code that is sent with all transactions.
Tips & Service Charges Account Code - The code that service charges and tips will post to in Mews.
Installation
The below files are required to be copied to the Bepoz\Programs folder on the server that is running RMS server.
- LinkRMS.dll
- Mews.xml (XML Setting file). Created on first run of MewsSettings.exe.
- MewsSettings.exe (used to configure the settings).
- RMSConfig.txt (Config file that instructs RMS Server to use the LinkRMS.dll).
- LinkAssist.dll
- LinkLib.dll
Bepoz Back Office Configuration
Some configuration in Bepoz Back office is required.
Venue Configuration
- Configure the venue setup to use the Advanced RMS.
Once logged into Bepoz select System Setup then Venue, Stores & Tills - Double click the venue you wish to configure and select the External Links tab.
- Configure the below options:

Reslink IP Address = 127.0.0.1

TCP Port = 19850

Name “Mews” or what the customer would like, this name appears on the Room Charge button in the Payments screen on the POS and in some reports.

Item Totals must be either Sort Groups or Type Groups. Sorts and Types are not supported.

Advanced RMS protocol must be ticked.

All other options can remain as default.

Till Function Maps
Add a Room charge button to the POS function maps.- Once logged into Bepoz select System Setup then Till Function Maps
- Double click the function map you wish to edit.
- Add a new button:
- Button Text = “Room Charge” or what ever the customer would like.
- Function = Tender & Payment
- Sub Function = ResLink (PMS) Charge
- Save and close.
RMS Server Configuration
On the computer that is running the RMS server and where the installation files have been copied, we are required configure the customers GL code and room mapping.
- Open the Bepoz\Programs folder
- Open MewsSettings.exe
- Select the Venue
- Enter the Access Token provided by the site.
- Click “Connect to Mews”
- Use Demo System, will allow you to test with the Mews demo server.
Configure the following settings:- Send Type:
- Venue, will send any sales and charges to Mews by venue with no store base detail.
- Store, will break up sales and charges by store.
- Group Type this setting should match what was configured in Bepoz Venue configuration, choose between:
- None = Will send a room charge as a single total to Mews.
- Sort Groups = Will send a room charge broken up by Sort groups.
- Type Groups = Will send a room charge broken up by Type groups.
- Mews Account, when sending by venue all charges will be posted to this Mews account.
- Mews Outlet, when sending by venue all sales (not room charges) will be posted to this outlet.
- Mews Service, when sending by venue all room charges will be posted to this service.
- Tips Code, the account where tips and service charges will be posted to.
- Currency, the currency that is used in Mews.
- Tax, the tax system used in Mews.
- GL Category, this is where the transactions will post to, like a folio used in other PMS systems.
- Send Type, this setting should match what was configured in Bepoz Venue configuration, choose between:
- None = Will send a room charge a single total to Mews.
- Sort Groups = Will send a room charge broken up by Sort groups.
- Type Groups = Will send a room charge broken up by Type groups.
- Map the Room Numbers, as Mews can have alpha-numeric rooms number you are required to map each room to a number.
- Map Sales Groups to Mews Accounts, Choose an account for each Sort or Type Group.
- Map the Store to Mews Services, choose a service for each Bepoz store.
- Map the Stores to Outlets, choose a outlet for each Bepoz Store.
- Send Type:
Revenue Job Configuration
If sending revenue to Mews you must tick the flag found in MewsSettings.exe to
Send Revenue. This will unlock some additional fields, map these as per the customers requirements.
- Configure the Bepoz Back Office Job to send the sales, this will send the sales every few minutes to Mews
- Open Bepoz Back Office System Setup
- Scheduled Jobs
- Click Add Job
- Set the Job type to External DLL
- Set the DLL Name to JobLinks.dll
- Set the Class Name to MewsSales
- Configure the job to run on start up
- Set the Last Export Date e.g 02/Feb/2022 09:00
- Click OK then run the job or restart smart controller.
