Mobile Number Verification at Sign-Up (Optional Feature)

Mobile number verification can now be enabled during sign-up to help improve account security and reduce duplicate accounts. When active, members will be required to verify their mobile via SMS before completing registration.

🔧 How to Enable This Feature

This is not mandatory by default — venues can choose to enable it based on their needs.

To turn it on:

  1. Go to People > Tier and Membership

  2. Toggle on the Mobile Verification flag

  3. Then go to System Admin > App Config

  4. Enable Login via OTP

⚠️ You’ll need an active Burst SMS account to use this feature. Mobile verification relies on Burst to send verification codes via SMS.
This is an add-on feature and may incur additional SMS charges through your Burst account.

How It Works (For Customers)

If enabled:

  • During sign-up, customers enter their mobile number

  • They receive an OTP (One-Time Password) via SMS

  • They must enter this code to verify their number and complete sign-up

If they later change their number:

  • A new OTP is sent to the updated number

  • The new number must be verified before changes are saved

Why Enable It?

  • Reduces duplicate or fake accounts

  • Improves communication through verified contact details

  • Adds an extra layer of security and trust for members

  • Essential for venues relying on SMS for bookings, offers, or loyalty
