13 | Product List Gross Sale Promotion

This article covers the 'Product List Gross Sale' Promotion Type and the Qualifying Criteria. As was noted in the Introduction to Prize Promotions article, the Promotion Type drop-down lists several options that can be chosen when configuring a Prize Promotion and each Promotion Type has different Qualifying Criteria that must be met in order for the Prize to be Awarded. The configuration options in the Qualifying Criteria section will change dynamically when a Promotion Type is selected.

This article covers the 'Product List Gross Sale' Promotion Type and the Qualifying Criteria.

As was noted in the Introduction to Prize Promotions article, the Promotion Type drop-down lists several options that can be chosen when configuring a Prize Promotion and each Promotion Type has different Qualifying Criteria that must be met in order for the Prize to be Awarded.

The configuration options in the Qualifying Criteria section will change dynamically when a Promotion Type is selected.

Prerequisites 
  • To access Prize Promotion Features, the applicable Operator Privileges will need to be enabled: 
    • Operator Maintenance 'Marketing & Promotions' Tab
      • Promotions: "Maintain Prize Promotions" Flag
    • Operator Maintenance 'Till Privileges' Tab
      • General: "Operate Tills" Flag
"Product List Gross Sale" Promotion Type
  • This Promotion Type can be used for both Account and Non-Account Sales
  • Depending on configuration options, this will Award a Prize based on Gross Sales of Products belonging to a particular Product Keylist
  • This Promotion Type's configuration options mimics that of the Product List Sales Promotion Type with the key difference being that the aforementioned Promo Type bases the Award on Nett Sales while this Promo Type bases the Award on Gross Sales

  • NB: All demonstration visuals used below are based on the configuration options set as in the image above unless otherwise noted
 

 

Qualifying Criteria/Configuration Option

Required Sales
  • Into this field, enter the Gross Sales amount of the Product/s that will be required to be sold to trigger Awarding of the Prize

 

 
Sales Can Accumulateflag
  • If this flag is enabled, then the Required Sales can be accumulated over multiple Transactions to calculate the Award
  • If this flag is disabled, the Required Sales condition must be met in one (1) single Transaction
  
And for Every Subsequent
  • This field is optional and will only be available if the Sales can Accumulate flag is disabled
  • In this field, enter the subsequent Gross Sales amount of the Product/s that will be required to Award additional Prizes
    • E.g., if Required Sales is set to 50 and the And for Every Subsequentfield is set to 10, if the Transaction total is $60, the Prize will be Awarded twice

 

 
Product/Key List drop-down
  • This drop-down will list all of the System's available Keylists; select the desired Keylist whose Product/s must be Sold at the Required Sales amount to Award the Prize
  • The Products in the selected Keylist will be the Products that will need to be Sold to initiate the Prize
  • For example, if the Keylist called "Craft Beers" contains 10 different Products, and the Required Sales is set to 50, then $50 of any of the Products in that Keylist will need to be Sold for the Prize to Awarded
  • For Keylists to be used in Promotions, all Products in the Keylist must have a specific Size selected; if any Product in the Keylist has a Size configured as "Select Size" the Keylist will not be able to be used

 

 
View button
  • Clicking on this button will open a new window displaying all of the existing Keylists in the System
  • From this window any of the existing Keylists can be Edited and, if required a new Keylist can be Added

 

 
Exclude Promo Itemsflag
  • When this flag is enabled, if any Products in the configured Keylist are part of another active Promotion, their Sales in a Transaction will be excluded from counting towards the Required Sales needed to Award the Prize
  • E.g., if one of the Products in the "Craft Beers" Keylist is also part of a Product Promotion which is currently activethen any Sales of that Product will not be added towards the Required Sales amount
