📄Setup A Backoffice Workstation Over RDP (L2 Technician Only)
A full guide on how to Setup a Backoffice Workstation over RDP (L2 Technicians only)
Prerequisites
The IT should send the RDP Credentials, Terminal Server IP and the Role of the user.
They should also have placed the RDP (correctly configured) Icon on the PC Desktop
- Get permission to login to Head Office and then Login
- Open Backoffice and create a New Backoffice Workstation for the PC
e.g Orion Hotel Server W/S - Close Backoffice
- Restart Smart Controller
Export the Backoffice Registry
- Click Run and type Regedit
- Navigate to HKEY_Current User>>Software
- Right click on backoffice Key and Export
- Save it as BO.reg to the Desktop
- Still in the Registry, Edit the Dword ‘CurrentTillID’
- Click Decimal and type in the new W/s ID then select Hexadecimal and note the number
- Close the Registry and Do NOT Save.
- Edit the BO.reg file with notepad
- Scroll to the very bottom and delete up to [but NOT Including the Line “UseSQLLogin”
Note: Make sure it’s set to 1 as the below image
- Then Edit the line “CurrentTillID” and change the last 3 characters to [e.g] 36a as below.
- Click File and then Save and Close.
- Click Start>Run [Search] and type MSTSC press enter
- Enter the username and password from the email and login to the RDP session
NOTE: It can only be done from Head Office.
- Click Connect
- Now copy the BO.reg file to the Session and Run it.
- Click Yes
- Click OK and Disconnect [Click the X on the RDP Bar]
- Run Backoffice and test
Note: it may error the first time.
- Run it again and it should login Successfully using the correct Workstation
- Exit Backoffice
- Contact the Customer to Test their RDP icon
- Make sure to delete [and empty the recycle bin] all BO.reg files
