Account Till Functions

2 | "Account Create" Sub-Function

This article outlines the "Account Create" Sub-Function, how it is configured in BackOffice, and how it can be used in SmartPOS. The "Account Create" Sub-Function allows Operators to create and edit a new Account within SmartPOS. Pre-defined configurations for this Sub-Function can also provide the defaults for the Account including the Account Group and other Settings.

The "Account Create" Sub-Function allows Operators to create and edit a new Account within SmartPOS. Pre-defined configurations for this Sub-Function can also provide the defaults for the Account including the Account Group and other Settings.

Prerequisites 

  • To access Till Function Settings, the applicable Operator Privileges will need to be enabled
    • Operator Maintenance 'General' Tab
      • System Setup: "Maintain Till Function Maps" Flag
  • To access and use this Till Function within SmartPOS, the following Operator Privileges will need to be enabled:
    • Operator Maintenance 'Till Privileges' Tab
      • General: "Operate Tills" Flag 
      • Accounts & Discounts: " Account Till Functions"Flag

Initial Setup 

  • Click on the desired Button space and then configure the Button Settings:
    • In the Button Text field enter the text that will display on the Till Function Button on SmartPOS Workstation screens
    • Set the Function drop-down to 'Tables & Accounts'
    • Set the Sub-Function to 'Account Create'



Function-Specific Configurations 

  • Enter the corresponding number into the Item field where:
    • "1" will not also open and attach the newly created Account to the Transaction
    • "2" will prompt the Operator to enter a Mobile Number for the Account which will also become the Account Number 
  • The corresponding number in the Key field will be: 
    • The Template Account Number which will link to a corresponding Account Group when created
      • Refer to the Account Maintenance "Main Setups" Tab for more information about Account Groups

SmartPOS Example

  • When the "Account Create" Sub-Function is selected, the Operator will first need to enter an Account Number 
  • The Operator can then edit the newly created Account and save once completed 
  • Depending on the Function-Specific Configurations, details such as the Account Group can be pre-set when the new Account is created
