5 | Account Maintenance "Pricing Policy" Setups

The article covers an overview of Pricing Policy section under Account Maintenance window in BackOffice which allows for specifying Pricing Policies to use for each Account. Prerequisites
  • To access Account Maintenance features, the applicable Operator Privileges will need to be enabled
    • Operator Maintenance 'Maintenance' tab
      • Edit Accounts Flag

Pricing Policy 
  • To setup Pricing policy for an Account, navigate to Account Maintenance "Main Setups" Tab
  • The individual Pricing Policy options are explained in detailed as below
 

 

Setting Description
Price Number
  • The Price Number specifies which base Price level to apply to the account before any discounts or points are awarded
  • These are the Price Names defined in Names Tab - Venue Maintenance
Pricing Type
  • No Price Change: Will use the price set in Price Number
  • Discount: Will give a Percentage Discount to all items sold to the Account
  • Cost Plus: Will sell all products to the Account at Cost Plus the percentage defined in the Pricing
    • It is not recommended to use this setting unless you are certain that the Cost Prices of all your Products are correct
  • Zero Price: Will sell all products to the Account at Zero Prices
  • Current Item: Will discount the item selected in the transaction only
  • Highest Priced Item: Will discount the Product with the highest price
    • The Products can be limited by using the Pricing Sort/Type field
    • The discount Product will then be the highest-priced item from within the Sort/Type defined
    • The discount will be the Percent defined in the Pricing Percent Discount field
  • Lowest Priced Item: WIll discount the Product with the lowest price
    • The Products can be limited by using the Pricing Sort/Type field
    • The discounted Product will then be the lowest-priced item from within the Sort/Type defined
    • The discount will be the Percent defined in the Pricing Percent Discount field

Pricing Percent

Discount

  • This is the pre-set discount percentage that corresponds to the Pricing Type
  • This will be the percent discount the Account receives
Pricing Sort/ Type
  • This is used to define which Products will receive a discount for this Account
  • Begin by selecting how you would like to filter Products

  • After selecting from the Pricing Sort/Type drop-down, a new drop-down selector will appear and will allow you to select from the defined Sort/Type

Add Discount Total
  • If a discount or surcharge is applied on the Account, the difference between the Normal Price and the Discounted Price will add to this Discount Total
  • There are sixteen (16) Discount Totaliser Names which can be configured in Venue Maintenance settings
  • Discount Totalisers are venue specific, meaning in a Multi-Venue environment these may be different from one venue to another
Force Account Price
  • Usually, the Pricing set for an Account will only be in effect if it is lower than the Standard Price
  • If this flag is enabled, the Account Price will be used even if it is higher than the Standard Price
  • Product Promotions will still override the price unless the Exclude Account is set to this account or one of its Parent Groups
