13 | Adding Comments to Receipts
This article covers the process of adding two types of comments into Receipts from SmartPOS.
This article covers the process of adding two types of comments into Receipts from SmartPOS.
Comments can be added to a Table's Receipt using the Receipt Comment and the Saved Comment Till Functions. These are very similar to each other; both Functions will Print the Comment on the Receipt. The difference is that when an Operator adds a Receipt Comment, it will not be stored with the Transaction, however, a Saved Comment will and can be viewed when the Transaction is Re-opened.
Prerequisites
- To access Receipt Features, the applicable Operator Privileges

- In addition, these Function Buttons will also need to be added to the respective
Till Function Map
Receipt Comment
- A Receipt Comment can be used to print a short comment in the receipt
- To use the Receipt Comment Till Function, an Operator needs to first have a Transaction active in SmartPOS
- After the products have been Added, Click on the Receipt Comment Till Function button
- A Comment window will open containing an alphanumeric keyboard and will allow the Operator to enter a Comment
- After tapping OK, the Comment will appear in the Transaction Window and will print on the Receipt before the Table is Saved
- The Comment will disappear after the Table is Saved Re-opened
Saved Comment
- To use the Saved Comment Till Function, an Operator will need to tap the Saved Comment Till Function button
- A Comment window will open containing an alphanumeric keyboard and will allow the Operator to enter a Comment
- After tapping OK, the Comment will appear in the Transaction Window and will print on the Receipt
- The Comment will remain with the Transaction after the Table is Saved and can be viewed when the table is re-opened
- Saved Comments will also be stored with the Transaction even after it's Closed - meaning that they can be reviewed on a Recalled Sale in SmartPOS or in BackOffice
