This article covers the fundamentals of setting up Auto Manufacturing in BackOffice.
A Manufactured Product can be configured to be Auto Manufactured so that when there is insufficient or No Quantity on Hand to Manufacture a base Manufactured product, the Auto Manufactured Product will be automatically manufactured by the system to cover the quantity required.
Auto Manufacturing feature comes in very handy in case of Nested Manufactured Products wherein a Manufactured Product is an ingredient of another Manufactured Product.
NB: Auto Manufacturing is available from Bepoz Version 4.6.1.4 and above.
Prerequisites
- To access Manufacturing settings, the applicable Operator Privileges will need to be enabled
-
Operator Maintenance 'Stock Control' Tab - General Stock Setting: "Manufacturing Functions" flag
-
Operator Maintenance 'General' Tab - System Setup: "Maintain Venue, Stores & Tills" flag
Setting Up a Product for Auto Manufacturing
- For a Nested Manufactured Product, wherein a manufactured product is added as an ingredient to another manufactured product
- Auto Manufacturing allows to automatically manufacture and deduct the correct Stock quantity required to manufacture the ingredient manufactured product when there is insufficient quantity on hand required to manufacture the Base Manufacture Product
- Note: If Restock Qty has been set for the ingredient manufactured product, then it will auto manufacture in multiples of Restock Qty, else the exact amount required for manufacturing the base Manufacture product
- An example for Nested Manufacturing would be manufacturing a Burger which has Mayonnaise as an ingredient
- Both Burger and Mayonnaise being manufactured products
- To manufacture a burger, a desired quantity of Mayonnaise is needed and at time when there is insufficient quantity required to manufacture a desired quantity of burgers then having the Auto Manufacture flag ON for Mayonnaise will automatically manufacture and deduct the Quantity on Hand of Mayonnaise required to manufacture the burgers
- To enable Auto Manufacturing, navigate to Product maintenance
- Navigate to
Product "Product Settings" Tab - Turn ON the
Manufacturing flag and then enable the Auto Manufacturing flag
- Once setup, this will then automatically deduct the quantity of the ingredient manufactured product when there is insufficient quantity on Hand to Manufacture the base Manufacture product
- Contrarily, when the base Manufactured product is being manufactured and there is insufficient quantity of the ingredient Manufactured product and the Auto Manufacture flag is OFF then a message will be displayed that there is insufficient quantity
- In such case, users will have to first manufacture sufficient quantity of ingredient manufactured product and then manufacture the base manufactured product
