3 | Bepoz Connection Tab Overview

This article covers an overview of the Bepoz Connection Tab within Bepoz Diagnostics. The Bepoz Connection tab allows Operators to control the overall system connection and allows to link the Tills with SmartController. Operators can also view any connection problem in the Bepoz network and get troubleshoot options in this tab.

Tab Breakdown
  • The Bepoz Connection tab can be broken down into four sections:
Bepoz Workstation Settings
  • These are the settings of the Workstation/Till the Operator is on
 

Field

Description

Workstation ID
  • This is the ID of the Workstation or Till the operator is on
    • The 'Change Workstation' button will allow Operators to change the ID of the Workstation/Till
Workstation Name
  • This will display the name of Workstation or Till the Operator is on
Bepoz IP Address
  • This is the IP Address of the Workstation or Till the Operator is on
  • The 'Change' button allows Operators to change the IP address for Bepoz

 

Till Scaling Factor
  • This will display the setting for the Till Scaling Factor
Base Map
  • This will display the Base Map set for that Workstation
Function Map
  • This will display the function Map set for that Workstation 
Runs BackOffice
  • This will allow the till to be manipulated from BackOffice
Edit Settings
  • When the Edit button is clicked, it will display a 'Change Workstation Settings' window from where operators can change the settings for Till Scaling factor, Base Map, Function Map and the option flag to set a BackOffice workstation

  

 

Network
  • These fields configure the network settings of the Till/ Workstation that Bepoz Diagnostics is running from
 

Field

Description

My IP Address
  • This is the IP address of the Till/ Workstation 
  • The 'Details' button on the side of this field can be used to view more information on the IP Address 
My DNS Name
  • This is the name of the DNS of the Till/ Workstation
Internet Status
  • This is the status of the internet connection
Gateway IP Address
  • This is the IP Address of the Internet Gateway
Ping
  • Sets an IP address or URL to Ping

 

Refresh
  • Refreshes the diagnostics window
Set LocalIP
  • Allows setting Local IP Address in the network

 

Link to SmartController
  • The 'Link to SmartController' section will display the status of the SmartController that the Till/ Workstation is connected to

Description

SmartController Status
  • This will display the connection status to SmartController
  • Find SmartControllers: Lists all the available SmartControllers to connect to 
SmartController IP Address
  • This is the IP Address of the SmartController
  • Change SmartController IP address: Allows changing the pre-set IP Address of SmartController
SmartController DNS Name
  • This is the name of the DNS of the SmartController Server
Global Name
  • This is the global name of the database
Venue Name
  • This is the name of the Venue Database

Field

Description

Multi-Venue System
  • This is a status of a multi-venue environment
  • Change: These settings can only be manually changed if the Smart Controller has not been connected
    • This button cannot change the system once Smart Controller has connected
Programs
  • Bepoz diagnostics will also check for running Bepoz programs such as:
    • Local SmartPOS
    • Local SmartPrint
    • Local Backoffice
    • Local SmartController
  • The 'View Log' button will display the log file for the program selected
  • The 'Start' button will start the Bepoz Program selected

 

Always On Top
  • When flagging the 'Always on Top' flags will always display the diagnostic screen on top of any other windows displayed
On-screen Keyboard
  • Selecting the 'On-screen Keyboard' button will display the On-screen keyboard
Run Database
  • Selecting the 'Run Database' button will display the On-screen keyboard
Refresh Data from SmartController
  • Selecting the 'Refresh Data from SmartController' will attempt to retrieve all Global Data

 

Close
  • Selecting 'Close' will close the diagnostic screen
