About

    • BERG is a manufacturer of electronic beverage control systems whose equipment allows businesses to control the portioning of the dispensed liquid and manage inventory/stock levels

      • The system provides easy integration with Bepoz to automatically ring up and record every drink poured
      • This system ensures fast ROI and allows businesses to enable and disable the beverage control system at the beginning and end of the day
    • This feature-set and functionality requires adding a "BERG" Till Extension Device in BackOffice
    • Additionally, Products that will be sold using the dispensing system should have their Sizes set based on the amount of liquid that is to be allocated for each Size
      • These Sizes are read by BERG and only the respective amount of liquid is allowed to be poured at once
    • The general workflow of this interface is that every time a button is hit at BERG, a PLU is sent to SmartPOS via BERG which then automatically looks up the price in BackOffice
      • This is an automated process with no Till Functions involved
    • When this integration is in place, the "Dispense Summary Report" can be used to track the amounts/portions of liquid dispensed via BERG
      • For a Product to be included in the Report, the "Flow Metered" flag must be enabled within Product Maintenance in the Stock Settings section

    Prerequisites

    • Minimum Bepoz version of 4.6 is required for this functionality
    • To set up a BERG Device, the applicable Operator Privileges will need to be enabled 
    • To setup products for BERG, the applicable Operator Privileges will need to be enabled 
      • Operator Maintenance 'Maintenance' Tab
        • All flags in 'Products' section
    • To view the Dispense Summary Report and include Products in the Dispense Summary, the applicable Operator Privileges will need to be enabled:
      • Operator Maintenance 'Maintenance' Tab
        • All flags in 'Products' section
      • Operator Maintenance 'Reporting' Tab
        • Maintain 'Other Reports' and 'Global Reports'

    Key Features

    BackOffice Setup

    • Aside from configuring Products, the only BackOffice setup requirement is simple configuration of the "BERG" Till Extension Device
      • There are additional settings that will need to be set on the BERG side of things with communication settings configured properly to connect to BERG
    • For Products themselves, Prices and Sizes should be configured accurately for the amount of liquid that is meant to be portioned when each Size is sold in SmartPOS

    SmartPOS Functionality

    • When the button is hit at BERG, the price respective to the Product Size configured in BackOffice will automatically pop-up in the transaction window
      • Since BERG does not wait if a transaction is currently being processed, it is advised that the user complete a transaction first before making another request
