4 | BERG - SmartPOS Workflow

This chapter covers the Till usage and till functionalities involved for BERG interface. The general workflow of this interface is that every time a button is hit at BERG, a PLU is sent to SmartPOS via BERG which then automatically looks up the price in BackOffice and the price pops up in transaction screen. This is an automated process with no Till Functions involved.

The general workflow of this interface is that every time a button is hit at BERG, a PLU is sent to SmartPOS via BERG which then automatically looks up the price in BackOffice and the price pops up in transaction screen. This is an automated process with no Till Functions involved.

Prerequisites

• For the BERG Interface to work and the pour request to be accepted, SmartPOS has to be logged in with authorised operator ID

SmartPOS Use

• When the button is hit at BERG, the price respective to the Product Size configured in B ackOffice  will automatically pop-up in the transaction window
• Operators with the correct privilege can always make changes to the sale amount using the till function buttons
• Since BERG does not wait if the transaction is being processed, it is advised that the user complete a transaction first before making another request
• For this part, an emulator has been used to demonstrate the workflow

• BERG will not pour when:
• The SmartPOS is not logged in with an authorised operator ID
• The size sent from BERG is not relevant or is not specified in Backoffice
• There are any prerequisites that restrict SmartPOS to process the Transaction
