Database.exe

Database.exe - Restore Database from SQLCE Database (LocalData.sdf)

Overview

Summary

There might be a case where you have lost the Database on the main smartcontroller workstation, either due to randomware or harddrive crash with no access to a previous backup.

The Function 'Restore SQLCE = To SQL Database' on Database.exe can help you restore a Venue Database with all the previous setting excluding the sales data.

Prerequisites

  • a Copy of the LocalData.sdf from one of the POS Terminals

  • Bepoz Version needs to be the Same Version the LocalDAtabase.sdf was created on. If the system crashed on 4.6.1.4 then this version has to be used for a successful restore.

Steps to Restore SQLCE Database (Localdata.sdf)

  • Copy the LocalDatabase from a POS terminal to the Smartcontroller workstation (Bepoz\\Backups) directory

  • Run Database.exe with the same Bepoz Version that the client was running.

  • Navigate to Backup Tab and select the Restore SQLCE to SQL Database Option

  • Enter in the Name of the Venue Database.

  • It will then prompt where this Database should be saved and this is generally in the default location (Bepoz\\Data\\)

  • It will then prompt for the Size of the Database, this defaults to 2GB and should be a good starting point for any restored Database.

  • It will then prompt you to locate the Localdata.sdf file - Navigate to (Bepoz\\Backups\\)

  • Database will now create the a Production Database from the SQLCE Database.

  • Once completed, Run Updates Tables again and also run Re-indexing.
