4 | Door Entry Terminal Workstation Setup
This article covers how to set up a Workstation Door Entry Terminal in BackOffice. A Door Entry Terminal is a Till that has no Till functionality; the terminal can be configured in a monitor as well. The monitor will display a slideshow of the photos and videos in the Media zipfile when waiting for members to swipe their card.
This article covers how to set up a Workstation Door Entry Terminal in BackOffice. A Door Entry Terminal is a Till that has no Till functionality; the terminal can be configured in a monitor as well. The monitor will display a slideshow of the photos and videos in the Media zipfile when waiting for members to swipe their card.
When the customer or member swipes, a photo or message will be displayed and any prize promotions that apply will be displayed and awarded. Here, tickets can also be printed from an attached printer or another printer (barrel printer).
Prerequisites
- To access Door Entry Terminal Settings, the applicable Operator Privileges

- System Setup: "Maintain Venue, Stores & Tills" Flag
- System Setup: "Maintain Global Settings" Flag
Workstation Setup
- A Door Entry Terminal is used for displaying Prize promotions when a card is swiped or barcode is scanned
- This type of terminal can be used for lottery businesses where a customer purchases a ticket and it is later scanned to check the result of the lottery
- For a Door Entry Terminal, a separate workstation has to be configured along with a device suitable for the terminal; this terminal can only be used to display the results and if an operator wants to process any transaction, the Till Mode has to be changed
- Till/Workstation Name
- Name of the Door Entry Terminal
- IP Address
- IP Address of the Till
- Main Store
- Sets a store where the Till is located
- Inward Store
- Sets a store where the Prize Promotions will be distributed from
- Till Mode
- The 'Till Mode' should be set to Door Terminal
Till Setup
- Hardware Type
- Select the correct type of Till
- An incorrect selection may cause the Till to malfunction
- Export Code
- There are four (4) Export Codes that are used for unique setups and reporting
- Till Scaling factor
- Set the Till Scaling Factor to 'Standard'
Defaults
- Operator
- For the Till to function, a default operator must be set in the system
- The operator configured for this Till must be specific and should not be used for any other Tills; Otherwise, the terminal will not function
