17 | Doshii Loyalty Integration - Reversal of a Gift Card

Prerequisites

  • Minimum Bepoz version of v4.7.3.2 and onwards
  • To access Till Function Settings, the applicable Operator privileges will need to be enabled
    •   Operator Maintenance 'General' Tab
      • General Settings: "Use Backoffice"
      • System Setup: "Maintain Till Function Maps" Flag
      • System Setup: “Access Venue, Stores, Tills” Flag
      • System Setup: “Maintain Venue, Stores, Tills” Flag

GiveX now supports the reversal of a gift card, assuming there have been no redemptions made against the card and that the card has not been active for more than 24 hours. If any of these points are met, the reversal will be refused, and an error will be returned from Doshii. If the gift card has been unused and only activated in the last 24 hours, then it can be reversed and reused.


    Supported Workflows to Reverse a Gift Card

    Cancelled / Cleared Item Transaction

    • Log into SmartPOS with a valid Logon Id
    • Scan a Doshii Loyalty Gift Card
    • Assuming the gift card has not already been activated, the user will be asked if they want to activate the card
    • Click Yes
    • The user will be prompted to enter the value of the card
    • The Activation will return from Doshii with the outcome:
      • Successful Activation - Card Ref & Amount
      • Unsuccessful Activation - Card Ref & Reason 
    • If successful, a line item will be added to the POS List for an External Gift Card Activation, with the corresponding balance owing
      • At this point, there are two methods to reverse the activation
    • The user can click the “Cancel“ function button to cancel the entire transaction before payment is taken
    • The user can select the line item on the POS list and select the “Clear“ function button to send the reversal request 
      • After either of these workflows, the user will be advised the activation has been cancelled

    Refunded Transaction

    • Assuming there has been no redemptions made against the card and that the card has not been active for more than 24 hours , the user will be able to refund the activation transaction through the “Recall Transaction“ function
    • There will be a dialogue advising of the cancelled gift card
