Overview
The Tyro Terminal Adapter (TTA) is the software used to to communicate between Smartpos and the Tyro terminals. Both the machine running the TTA and the Tyro terminal need internet access to be able to communicate with each other.
Prerequisites
Smartpos installed
A Tyro Terminal
Network settings configured to allow internet access
Pinpad Setup
The Tyro Terminal must be configured with an internet connection. Depending on the model, this can be with an ethernet cable, using Wifi, or Using a 3G connection. The terminal must also be configured in integrated mode to use the TTA. Tyro terminals don't support running Pay@Table at the same time as running integrated.
To configure the network connection type on the pinpad
Press Menu
Select option 7 - Network & Diagnostics
Select option 1 - Network Connection
Choose Option 1 for Wifi, or Option 2 for 3G
When using Wifi, Configure the network settings to suit the network
Press Menu
Select option 7 - Network & Diagnostics
Select option 2 - Network Set
Select option 1 - to scan for Wifi networks or option 2 to configure the network settings manually
To configure the integration mode on the pinpad
Press Menu
Option 5 - Configuration
Enter the pin number, and press OK
Select Option 1 - Integrated EFTPOS
Select Option 1 - Select Integration Mode
Select Option 2 - Integrated
TTA Installation
Download the Tyro TTA installer from the following URL, and install it using the default install settings. The only install option that may need changing is the TTA update time.

On 64bit systems, Tyro will be installed to the following folder
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Tyro\\Tyro Terminal Adapter
On 32bit systems, it will be installed in this folder.
C:\\Program Files\\Tyro\\Tyro Terminal Adapter
From the install folder, run the Configuration utility.
The configuration utility will require the Merchant ID and Terminal ID to be able to pair with the pinpad.
On the Tyro Terminal
Press Menu on the pinpad
Select option 9 - Merchant Information
Select option 1 - Merchant Name, Mid & Tid
Make note of the Merchant ID and Terminal ID
On the Tyro Configuration Utility, enter the Merchant ID and Terminal ID
Enter a name for the Pos terminal
Select the receipt printing location
On the Tyro pinpad.
Press Menu
Option 5 - Configuration
Enter the pin number, and press OK
Select Option 1 - Integrated EFTPOS
Select Option 2 - Pair with POS
In the configuration utility
Click on Save and Pair
On the pinpad
Select Start.
The pairing status will say User Paired once pairing is complete.
Workstation Configuration
On the workstation, add an eftpos device using the following settings.
Device Type: Eftpos
External DLL Name: Eftposanz.dll
Class Name: Tyro V3
Enable Pre-auths if required.
Enable 'Use Embedded Receipts' if printing Eftpos receipts on the POS receipt printer.
