1 | Introduction to Repricing & Discount Functions

This article covers an introduction to the Product Repricing and Discount Functions available in Bepoz and the prerequisites to enable those functions.

The Pricing Function Panel contains Till Function buttons used to give Discounts or Surcharges to individual Products, or to an entire Transaction. These buttons will alter the Function Panel to display the Discount & Pricing Function options available. The Functions include Monetary ($) Discounts, Percentage (%) Discounts, and Reprices.

The ability to use these Till Functions is controlled by Operator privileges.

There are two (2) main types of Discounts that are often used and available for use from a SmartPOS Workstation - Manual Discounts & Automatic Discounts. Surcharges and Service Charges can also be applied to a Transaction when necessary.

Prerequisites

An Operator must have the proper authorisation/s to utilise the Discount/Pricing Functions
These can be found within Operator Maintenance on the Till Privileges Tab under Accounts & Discounts

Pricing / Discount Function Panel

The Pricing button seen in the image below directs the Till Function panel to the "Pricing" Panel which will offer options for Repricing and Discounting the active Transaction

This button and the Till Functions within the Panel itself may vary depending on the System's configurations

When the Pricing button is clicked, the Function buttons within the Function Panel will change to display the various Options available

Discount Types

Most Discounts or Pricing Adjustments fall into two (2) categories - Preset (Automatic) or Manual based on their nature

Manual Discounts

Manual Discounts needs to be manually entered by the Operator

These discounts do not have a pre-set value

I.e., functions such as the Manual Percentage (%) Discount functions, Manual Discount Amount ($) functions, and Item Reprice functions essentially give the Operator free reign over how much of a Discount or Pricing Adjustment they can apply

Preset (Automatic) Discounts

Automatic Discounts include pre-set values that will be automatically triggered

Since the Discount Percentage or Amount is already added, the Operator does not and cannot enter them manually

E.g., Automatic Discounts can include options such as 50% Off Up to $10
