1 | Introduction to Till Function Maps

This article covers a brief introduction on Till Function Maps and the relevant features that can be used. Till Function Maps contain Function Buttons that can be used to perform a variety of tasks on SmartPOS Workstations. The Till Function Maps component in BackOffice - which opens the Till Function Override Setup tab - can be used to: Assign Till Function Maps to each Till, Edit Maintain Function Maps, and Edit Keyboard Functions.

Till Function Maps contain Function Buttons that can be used to perform a variety of tasks on SmartPOS Workstations.

The Till Function Maps component in BackOffice - which opens the Till Function Override Setup tab - can be used to: Assign Till Function Maps to each Till, Edit & Maintain Function Maps, and Edit Keyboard Functions.

In addition, Till Function Maps also contain Panels which can be maintained and hold specific Till Function Buttons for set tasks and scenarios. For example, there are Panels that contain Stock-related functions and Panels that hold Manager-specific functions.

Prerequisites 
  • To access Till Function Maps, the applicable Operator Privileges will need to be enabled 
    • Operator Maintenance 'General' Tab
      • System Setup: "Maintain Till Function Maps" Flag 

Accessing Till Function Maps 
  • Till Function Maps can be accessed from the System Setup Menu 
  • Once Till Function Maps is opened, there are a number of Functions that can be found within the Till Function Override Setup Tab 
  • Venues with their assigned Tills and their current Function Override assignment will also be displayed

Exit Function Map List
  • Selecting this button will close the tab
 
Change Till Maps Assignments
  • Clicking on this button will allow Operators to edit the Till Map Assignment
  • This is a toggle button and when clicked, the button itself will change to an orange color and will read "Exit Till Map Assignment"
  • When in Edit Mode, each Till's Function Override Map can be changed by clicking in the appropriate field to reveal a drop-down listing all of the available Function Maps  (or assign "No Function Override Map")

Edit Highlighted Function Map
  • With the desired Function Map highlighted, click on this button to open a new tab which will allow for Editing the Function Map
  • The Editing Tab will be prefixed "Function Map:" followed by the Function Map's name 

Print List
  • Clicking on this button will generate a *.pdf document showing the data listed which can then be printed
 
Keyboard Functions 
  • Clicking this button will open a smaller window called Keyboard Functions which can be used to maintain Keyboard Functions
  • I.e define what function the key/s on an attached keyboard will perform when the till is logged in, ready for transactions 

Edit Till Setup 
  • Click on this button will open the Workstation Maintenance window for the highlighted Till Name

Maintain Function Maps
  • Clicking on this button will open a new tab called "Function Map List" which lists all of the Function Map names and the Tills that are using each
  • Also from this tab, Function Maps can be maintained and saved/restored from disk
