This article outlines the introductory concepts to using Operator Till Functions in SmartPOS; it consists of an overview of the Function Panel and common functionality.

Bepoz allows Operators to perform various Till Functions in SmartPOS along with the basic Transaction functions. However, individual Operators' Function capabilities will depend on their Operator Privileges and authorisations. Operator Functions are accessed via the Function Panel on the bottom of the SmartPOS Home Screen.

Prerequisites

  • To access Operator Till Functions features, the applicable Operator Privileges   will need to be enabled
    • Operator Maintenance 'Till Privileges' Tab
      • General Tab: "Operate Tills" Flag
    • Additional prerequisites may apply to individual Till Functions

Function Panel Overview

  • The Function Panel on the bottom of the SmartPOS Home Screen is the hub of Control for utilising SmartPOS Functions via their respective Function buttons

  • This Panel can be customized in BackOffice and may appear different to the one used in this article
  • Some Function buttons within the Function Panel will link to additional Panels which will display other Function buttons; i.e., numerous Function Panels can be created in BackOffice and can then be accessed via one-another
    • E.g., if an Operator taps on the Manager Menu Function button, all of the buttons within the Function Panel will change to display the Manager Menu Function button
    • In this case, a Function Panel containing Management Functions has been accessed via the aforementioned Manager Menu button

  • Some of the most commonly used Functions include Operator Log Off, Manager Functions, Pricing/Discount Functions, Hold Sale, Table Functions, Account Functions, Stock Functions and the No Sale Function
    • Tapping most of these buttons will alter the Function buttons displayed in the Function Panel to Function buttons related to the Parent Function; i.e. they are not necessarily performing Functions in and of themselves, but rather linking access to additional Function Panels

Operator Function Privileges

  • Some of the Functions accessible from SmartPOS Workstations can be controlled for each Operator using Operator Maintenance in BackOffice

  • From within Operator Maintenance, Till Privileges can be used to authorise some SmartPOS Functions, however, certain flags within the other tabs may also need to be enabled
    • For example, even if an Operator is reauthorized to perform Stock Functions by having the Stock Functions at Till flag enabled, they will also need to be authorised separately within the Stock Control tab for certain Transfer, Stocktake, Requisition, etc. Functions
