12 | Invoice Printing Account Threshold
This article covers Invoice Printing Account Thresholds and a step-by-step guide to implementing the associated Till Extension. It is a requirement in some countries that when an Invoice equals or surpasses a particular amount, the Organization must offer to Print the Invoice with Customer Information included. A Till Extension can be added to Tills which will support the ability to print Receipts with Customer Details when Invoices reach a specified amount.
This article covers Invoice Printing Account Thresholds and a step-by-step guide to implementing the associated Till Extension.
It is a requirement in some countries that when an Invoice equals or surpasses a particular amount, the Organization must offer to Print the Invoice with Customer Information included.
A Till Extension can be added to Tills which will support the ability to print Receipts with Customer Details when Invoices reach a specified amount.
Prerequisites
- To access Account Maintenance features, the applicable Operator Privileges will need to be enabled

Till Extension Implementation
- This Till Extension - when attached to a Till - will Print a Receipt/Invoice with Account Details when the Transaction amount is above the predetermined amount as set in the Till Extension Device Options
- To set up this Device, complete the following steps after logging into BackOffice:
- Navigate to the System Setup component in the sidebar, expand, and select Venue, Stores & Tills to open the Venue & Till List Tab
- Highlight the desired Till and click on the Add New Device button at the top of the tab; when prompted select 'Blank Device' and a New Device and Interfaces Maintenance window will open
- Enter a relevant Device Name, set the Device Type to 'Till Extension', the External DLL Name to 'Tillx_aus.Dll', and the Class Name to 'Inv Print Account Threshold'
- Configure the Invoice Threshold amount in the Device Options
- Australia requires the ability to print a receipt with Customer's Details when Invoices are over $1000
- Click OK to save the Till Extension
Implementation Results
- After restarting SmartController, if a Transaction is Tendered to an amount that is greater than or equal to the amount entered as the Invoice Threshold, the Receipt will include Account Details (First Name, Last Name, and Address)
- If an Account is not already attached to the Transaction, a prompt will appear notifying the Operator that the Invoice amount has reached the Threshold and will have an option to Create an Account
- If the Operator selects to Create Account, a number-entry box will appear for entering an Account Number (mobile number suggested)
- The Operator will then be able to enter Account Details which will be Printed on the Receipt
- Alternatively, if an existing Account Number is entered, an additional prompt will appear warning the Operator and asking if the existing Account should be used
