      J2 Wave PDA

      This lesson covers the installation process of J2 Wave PDA along with the instructions to download files to the Wave using RAL program.

      SmartPDE

      Overview

      • Do not install both Smart PDE and Smart Pad on the same physical device. Insufficient memory is typically available to run both programs

      • The J2 Wave does not have a USB connection and can only be used with wireless. For instructions to setup the wireless please refer to the J2 Wave Software Utilities manual

      • This will also give instructions on how to download files to the Wave using the RAL program

      • Please ensure that the version of the J2 Wave is Microsoft CE6.0 and has Microsoft SQL Compact Edition 3.51 installed on the Operating System image

      • BEpoz only supports the J2 when running Microsoft SQL Server 2008 with Microsoft SQL Compact Edition 3.51

      • Below is an example of how to use RAL

      • This example will ONLY work for BEpoz Support in the BEpoz office

        • Open Remote Application Loader

        • Click on the Name button

        • Type BEH-SERVER-DC and press the Enter button

        • Click the Username button

        • Type J2 and press the Enter button

        • Click the Password button

        • Type WAVE4safet and press the Enter button

        • Click the Download Files button

      • A message will appear stating Unsupported System Version

        • Click the Yes button

        • The device will ask for installation location, press the OK button

      • This will now install SmartPAD

        •  The device will ask for installation location, press the OK button

      • This will now install SmartPDE

        • Browse  Start > Programs > Windows Explorer > BEpozInstall

        • Run ren.bat (IT IS IMPORTANT TO DO THIS OTHERWISE SMARTPDE AND SMARTPAD WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY)\\

      • By default the SmartPDE will auto load on startup when you set up the device. To disable SmartPDE from auto loading and have SmartPAD auto load on startup, run StartSmartPAD.bat from the BEpozInstall directory

      • It is highly recommended to only use ANY PDA device as SmartPAD or SmartPDE and NOT both as there are hardware limitations in terms of memory capacity
