Timeout Feature

  • Open PC-EFTPOS device and ensure that the settings mentioned below are entered correctly to use the Timeout feature
    • Note: If the Device does not exist, refer to  PC-EFTPOS TCPIP (v4.6)  & create a new device
  • Go to the System Setup tab from the side menu and select 'Venue, Stores & Till'
  • Select the desired Till within the desired Store within the desired Venue where the PC-EFTPOS device will be connected to
  • Click on PC-EFTPOS Device & the Device and Interfaces Maintenance screen pops up, fill in with the following details:
    • Device Options:
      • Allow Operator Restart:
        • ON: When the flag is enabled, then the Operator will have the option to restart the service when the timeout period has elapsed
          • Note: On SmartPOS, a restart option will be displayed once the timeout set time elapses
        • OFF: When the flag is disabled, then the Operator will not have the option to restart the service when the timeout period has elapsed
      • Other Settings:
        • TimeOut: TimeOut time set in seconds

  • Repeat these steps for all required Tills

SmartPOS Usage

  • When the Device flag is turned on and the Operator sends through a payment
  • Once the time set in Timeout elapses, the Operator will see a new screen
  • This screen will cover the SmartPOS so that no other button can be pressed on the SmartPOS
  • This screen will show the 'Restart EFTPOS' button once the time set in the device elapses
  • Once the Operator presses this button, the existing connection between Bepoz and PC-EFTPOS is terminated and it restarts the connection between the two to send through another transaction
    • Note: This will help Operators to reconnect to the terminal in case of a connection loss
    • While this allows to re-initialise the connection between Bepoz and PC-EFTPOS, the current transaction will need to be manually canceled on the terminal as well
