3 | Liven SmartPOS Usage

This article covers the relevant workflows for Liven Payments in SmartPOS after the interface has been properly set up. Liven API is an external payment system that can be used to process transactions in Sydney- and Melbourne-based restaurants. Table Orders can be paid directly to Liven in SmartPOS Transactions.

Liven API is an external payment system that can be used to process transactions in Sydney- and Melbourne-based restaurants.

Table Orders can be paid directly to Liven in SmartPOS Transactions.

Prerequisites 
  • To access Liven features the following Operator Privileges will need to be enabled: 
    • Operator Maintenance 'General' Tab
      • System Setup: "Maintain Till Function Maps" Flag
    • Operator Maintenance 'Till Privileges' Tab
      • General: "Operate Tills" Flag 
      • Tables: "Table Sales" Flag

'Liven' Function Button
  • The default space for Liven External Payment system will be in the payment window as shown below

  • However, Operators can choose to create a separate Till Function button for this interface
  • To do so; go to Backoffice > System Setup
  • Select the Till Function Map option which will open the venue for which button has to be created
  • Select the Panel in which the button is being added and follow the given settings

Button Text
  • Type In a name for the Button
Function
  • Set the function as 'Tender and Payment'
Sub-Function
  • Set the Sub-function as 'External Payment Generic'
Item
  • Set the Venue ID in which the External Payment has been configured i.e. in this example, the Venue ID is 1
Sub-Item
  • Set the number of the External Payment i.e. in this example, the External Payment Number is 13

 


SmartPOS Initialization
  • Once done, the Liven Interface will now be loaded as an External Payment Link in SmartPOS

 

  • Failure to initialize the Liven Interface will prompt a user-friendly error in the SmartPOS when SmartPOS is being loaded

  • In this case, the operator needs to check the settings and/or check for the service status
