6 | "Membership Payment" Sub-Function

This article outlines the "Membership Payment" Sub-Function, how it is configured in BackOffice, and how it can be used in SmartPOS. The "Membership Payment" Sub-Function allows Operators to pay and renew Account Memberships. Once Memberships have been renewed, they can be paid directly using the normal payment function on the Till.

The "Membership Payment" Sub-Function allows Operators to pay and renew Account Memberships. Once Memberships have been renewed, they can be paid directly using the normal payment function on the Till.

Prerequisites 

• To access Till Function Settings, the applicable Operator Privileges will need to be enabled
  
• Operator Maintenance 'General' Tab
• System Setup: "Maintain Till Function Maps" Flag
• To access and use this Till Function within SmartPOS, the following Operator Privileges will need to be enabled
  
• Operator Maintenance 'Till Privileges' Tab
• General: "Operate Tills" Flag
• Tables: "Table Sales" Flag
• Accounts & Discounts: "Account Till Functions"

Initial Setup 

• Click on the desired Button space and then configure the Button Settings:
• In the Button Text field enter the text that will display on the Till Function Button on SmartPOS Workstation screens
  
• Set the Function drop-down to 'Tables & Accounts'
  
• Set the Sub-Function to 'Membership Payment'

Function-Specific Configurations 

• The corresponding number in the Item field is the MembershipID that will be applied to the account upon renewal 
• The corresponding number in the Subitem field is the RenewalID that will be applied to the account upon renewal 
• Having both of these configurations set will allow Renewals to be pre-defined 
• If both of these Items are not configured, the Operator will then need to select the Membership and Renewal Types on SmartPOS directly

SmartPOS Example

• After selecting the "Membership Payment" Sub-Function, the Operator can manage Membership renewals for the currently opened Account
• Depending on the Function Specific Configurations, selecting the Renew Membership Button will renew the Account's Membership accordingly
• If either both Item and Subitem fields are configured, a pre-defined Membership and Renewal Type will be applied
