4 | MiClub Interface SmartPOS Usage

This article covers SmartPOS usage examples for the MiClub Interface. Once the MiClub Interface has been configured in BackOffice and the CALink Setup has been completed, Operators can retrieve Member Accounts via SmartPOS. In Backoffice, the Accounts can be automatically created/updated based on a defined tier level - if configured to do so.

Once the MiClub Interface has been configured in BackOffice   and the  CALink Setup  has been completed, Operators can retrieve Member Accounts via SmartPOS. In Backoffice, the Accounts can be automatically created/updated based on a defined tier level - if configured to do so.

Prerequisites

  • For an operator to be able to use MiClub, following privileges must be enabled
    • Operator Maintenance 'Till Privileges' Tab
      • Account & Discounts: 'Account Charges' flag
      • Account & Discounts: 'Credit Money to Account' flag
      • Account & Discounts: 'Account Charge Refunds' flag

SmartPOS Workflow

Retrieving Member Accounts

  • Swipe the customer's card at the till and SmartPOS retrieves the account via CALink
    • The account will automatically be created/updated in Backoffice at the correct tier level
  • The Operator can then view and use the Account Balance for transactions

  • Select Pay and the payment screen will display
    • If the transaction is charged to MiClub payment, it will open up a Select an Account Type window
  • A list of all Account Types window will display; select the account number available and select the below options:
    • Pay  - Pay the total amount and will deduct the dollar amount from the member account
    • Print - Prints the transaction
    • Part Pay - Can make a partial payment for different types of payment
    • Cancel - Cancels the payment





Account Charge Refund

  • To perform a refund of a payment or chargeback the guests' accounts, follow the below steps:
  • Select either the sub-function 'Recall by TransactionID' or 'Recall Transaction List'
    • Recall by TransactionID - allows the operator to enter the transaction ID if the operator knows the ID
    • Recall Transaction List - allows the operator to display all the transactions in a list
  • The transaction will display once either entered or selected the transaction
    • From here you have an option to refund an item or refund the whole transaction

            


  • Selecting 'Refund' will prompt a window with a total amount of the refund. Select 'OK'
  • From there it will display to select an account type where the refund should do the reversal
  • Select an account and then select Pay function
  • Select a reason code why it requires a refund
