YourOrder can now require future pickup and delivery orders to be scheduled for at least 24 hours from the time of ordering.

This feature allows venues to better manage orders by giving them at least a whole day to prepare for the order. This is especially helpful for items that need time to prepare, or to give the venue some leeway during busy seasons like the holidays.

Setting Up

First, future orders must be allowed by enabling the Allow Orders Ahead flag. This can be found in Settings>Times.

Next, go back to the top and select the Pickup or Delivery tab, depending on what service you need the notice hours for. After selecting the tab, switch the Enable Minimum Notice for Pre-Order to On.

In the Pickup tab, the Pick-up by Counter and by Car have separate flags, so the venue can enable the feature by pickup type.

Once the flag is on, scroll to the bottom to find the Notice required fields. The field is in hour units, and the minimum is 24. The venue can increase this value depending on their needs.

How this field works is it will add the number of hours to the current order time during checkout. This means the customers can only schedule the pickup or delivery of their orders at least 24 hours from the time of order.

For example, if a customer is looking at YourOrder at 9 am Tuesday, the schedule that the system will give the customer for pickup or delivery will start from Wednesday 9 am onwards. Customers will not be allowed to schedule pickup or delivery less than 24 hours from the time that order was placed.

Note:

This feature can conflict with the Future Order in Same day feature. Both cannot be enabled at the same time. The good thing is both options can be set by service, so the venue can opt to set Pick up by Car with the 24-hour notice, while setting Delivery with same day future order allowed

The system will prompt if it finds a conflict between the two features.

Sample Checkout

In this screen, once the customer selects Drive Through (Pickup by Car), the system will pop-up with a window for Later orders, with the available schedule starting at least 24 hours from the time of order. Customers will be given no option to pick an earlier schedule.
