      4 | Other Printer Format Configurations

      This article covers the 'Prize Promotion', 'Kitchen Display System', and 'EPL Printer' Printer Formats and their configuration options. The 'Prize Promotion' format is mainly used for Vouchers, Tickets, Raffles and other types of promotion. The settings can be configured by changing the printer Type to Promotion. The 'Kitchen Display System' is a format where the orders are not printed but rather displayed on a Kitchen Display System screen.

      This article covers the 'Prize Promotion', 'Kitchen Display System', and 'EPL Printer' Printer Formats and their configuration options.

      The 'Prize Promotion' format is mainly used for Vouchers, Tickets, Raffles and other types of promotion. The settings can be configured by changing the printer Type to Promotion.

      The 'Kitchen Display System' is a format where the orders are not printed but rather displayed on a Kitchen Display System screen.

      The 'EPL Printer' format is used for Labels and/or Ticket Printing when printing certain types of pre-printed vouchers.

      Prerequisites 
      • To access Printer Format Settings, the applicable Operator Privileges   will need to be enabled 
        • Operator Maintenance 'General' Tab
          • Operational Setup: "Maintain Printer Formats" Flag 
      Prize Promo Setup Options
      • The Prize Promo Printer Format Setup is used when Printing  Vouchers  for  Prize Promotions
      • This type of Printing Setup does not have as many setup options as the Receipt or Invoice formats

       

      Prize Promotion
      • The Prize Promotion setup has the following configuration options:

       

      Options

      Description
      Print Order Time in large
      • This will Print the Order Time in a Larger font
      Print Account Number
      • This will Print the Account Number in the docket
      Print Name & Phone Entry Lines
      • This will Print the Customer name and phone number in the docket
      Print Sequential Number
      • This will Print the sequential number in the docket
      Transaction Number Digits
      • This will Print the transaction number digits in the receipt

      Room Charge

       

      Configuration options

      Description

      Print Room Number
      • This is an optional flag which, when ticked on, will print the room number in the receipt below the total balance
      Print Guest name
      • This is an optional flag, which when ticked on, will print the guest name in the receipt along with the room number
      Signature
      • This drop-down list has three options:
        • None - if this option is selected, the receipt will not include a signature line
        • None on Payment - if this option is selected, the receipt will not include a signature line on payments
        • Always -  if this option is selected, the receipt will always include a signature line

      Flags

      Description
      Top Logo Number
      • Each POS printer can have a number of logos loaded into their memory
      • This sets the logo number to be printed at the top of the printout
      Bottom Logo Number
      • This sets the logo number to be printed at the bottom of the printout
      Tax indicator
      • This will display tax on the pre-set area
      Comment Options

      Description

      Display Header/ Footer
      • This button allows operators to set where the text will be displayed
      • In this example, the text will be displayed as a Footer
      • The highlighted box can be clicked to display the text as a header
      Active
      • If this flag is ticked On, the Comments will be active and will print in the receipt
      • The other functions in the line will only be displayed after the flag is ticked on
      Text
      • This field allows typing a text that will be printed in the receipt as a Header or Footer
      Chars
      • This field will display the number of characters in the text
      Centred
      • This flag will align the text towards the center
      Red
      • This flag will display the text in Red Color
      Large
      • This flag will display the text in larger Font
      Bold
      • This flag will display the text in Bold Font
      Underline
      • This flag will display the text in the Underlined format
      QR Code
      • This flag will display the QRCode

      Kitchen Display System Setup Options
      • This type of format doesn't actually Print anything and the "receipt" is displayed on the KDS
      • Usually, another printer is also set up for customer receipt via  Printer Profiles

       

      EPL Printer Setup Options
      • This is somewhat similar to Prize Promotion except that this setup allows importing external XML file

       

      Field

      Description
      XML Filename
      • Sets a fully qualified path name for the XML File
      • If no path is selected, Program Directory will be searched to export the file
      Printer Format
      • Sets a Printer Format to print the dockets
      Edit
      • Edits the printing mode for the printer

      Comment Options
