Printer Profiles for KDS

Overview

This lesson covers the process of setting up printer profiles for KDS and allocating the profiles to specific products

  • Bepoz can cater to Print particular products to designated printers using Printer Profiles

  • KDS is a type of printer and also has the capability to use printer profiles for a designated KDS

  • This is used for venues that have different locations to make or prepare food

  • e.g. A restaurant kitchen has a cold larder and hot larder section and would like all the hot larder orders print to the hot loader area and the cold larder orders will print to the cold larder area

Step-by-step Guide

  • Operators  will need to set the KDS devices in BackOffice ( Operators can add multiple KDS devices to a Till / Workstation)

  • Once all the devices have been setup in the BackOffice, operators will need to setup the Printer Types in Venue Settings. Below is an example of my Printer Types

  • Once the Printer Types have been assigned, Operators will need to Add a new Printer format for KDS

  • To add a new format from the menu tree in BackOffice, Select Operation setup > Printer Formats

 

Format Name

  • Assign a Name for the printer format

Venue

  • Assign a Name for the Venue that will Be using the format

Type

  • Select the 'Kitchen display System' for the type

 

  • Select Save and Close

  • Operators will need to assign the KDS device to the printer type in Till / workstation settings

  • Also the Printer format that were created for the KDS needs to be assigned

  • Below is an example of the Till Setting

  • Once  the KDS and the Printer format has been assigned, Operators will need to create Printer Profiles

  • From the Menu tree in BackOffice , Select Operational Setup > Printer Profiles

  • In the printer profile screen, Select Add printer Profile

  • Assign a printer profile Name

  • Assign the KDS for the printer profile to print to

  • Select OK when done and Add another Printer Profile

  • Once the printer profiles have been assigned, they needs to be assigned to the products

  • Select Maintenance > Product from the Menu tree in BackOffice

  • Select the Product to be printed to the 1st KDS, Edit the product and select the printer profile created for the 1st KDS and select OK 

  • Select the Product to print to the 2nd KDS, Edit the product and Select the Printer Profile that is created for the 2nd KDS and select OK

  • Once done, the setup for Printer Profiles for KDS is now complete
