Prerequisites 
  • To access and manage Products, the applicable Operator Privileges   will need to be enabled: 
    • Operator Maintenance 'Maintenance' Tab
      • Products: "View Products" Flag 
      • Products: "Edit Products" Flag 

Product Maintenance Header Details
  • To open an Edit Product window, either double-click on the Product you wish to edit or click the Edit Product button on the Product List Screen after selecting the Product

  

 

    Product Settings

    Description & Additional Information 

    Name
    • Short Product Name
      • Can be up to 30 Characters Long
      • This name appears on the SmartPOS Workstation
    Full Name
    • Long Product name
      • Can be up to 60 Characters Long
      • This is an alternate name that can optionally appear on reports
      • An additional Product Name can also be utilized after configuring the Global Setting '2nd Language Name'
    Product Modes
    • Normal Product
      • Is the one that is sold as it is defined within its product settings
    • Condiment Products
    • Condiment Groups
      • Is a product that can only be sold attached to another product
      • Condiments often have zero price for instance cooking instructions, but can also be priced when adding extra items to a meal
    • Package Fixed
      • Is when products are being sold together in a set "deal"
      • Often used for food packages where you get a set entrée with a set main for a certain price
      • The package items are defined in the condiment list
      • There are no choices as to what can be ordered but the actual products (condiments), will print to a defined kitchen printer
      • A Fixed Package Product cannot have a zero price
    • Package Selection
      • Is when products are being sold together for a set deal but there is a choice between the items
      • For instance with a set menu but you can choose between two entrées and two mains
      • The package items are defined in the condiment list
      • They also print to any kitchen printers
      • A Package Selection Product cannot have a zero price
    • Comment Display Only
      • This is not a product which can be sold in any way and it has no physical attributes; it is for text functions only such as opening and closing procedures
      • Text in the comment text box will display in the SmartPOS Workstation under the key which has this product assigned to it
    • Composite Product
      • This will be sold as a normal product, but will also sell ALL products set in the condiment list as well
      • This is useful in the instance of bottle deposits
    • Raffle Product
      • This will be linked to a Raffle Setup and will be sold in order to sell Raffle Tickets for the Raffle
    • Condiment Group
      • This product contains a list of condiments
      • If this product is added as a condiment to another Product, then this products list of condiments will be shown at the SmartPOS Workstation
      • This allows for standard lists of condiments to be added to many products
    Group
    • The Product Group that the Product belongs to
      • Groups can be created and maintained in Global Settings
    • Product Groups are mainly used to organize products into Groups of Related Products
    • Product Groups are also used in Reporting
    • The Product can be moved to another Group by selecting a different Group using the drop-down selector

    Inactive
    • Makes product inactive
    • To make a product inactive, enable this flag
    • When this flag is enabled, the product will be hidden in product lists
    • The product can be made active again by disabling the flag
    • Inactive products will not appear on Key Maps and in Key Lists
    Number
    • An identifying number for the product
    • Previously known as the PLU or Price Look Up
    Till KeyMap Status

     

    • This displays if this product is assigned to KeyMaps for the SmartPOS Workstations or not
    • If not, it will define how many SmartPOS Workstations on which the Product is missing
    • This could be valid or an indicator that the product has not been assigned when it should have been
    • Clicking this button will allow you to view the KeyMap Status for the Product by Till
    Attaching an Image

    • Attaching a reference image to a product can be done through the button in the top right-hand corner; by clicking on the button it opens up a page where all the Images are stored in Bepoz
    • You can add images to this file by clicking on the Add Images key
      • To select an image; simply double click on it or highlight it and click Select Image up the top
      • To remove an image; re-open the image file and close it again and it will ask you if you would like to clear the image
    Created
    • This is the date that the Product was created in BackOffice
