    • Note: The Edit Product Printing Priorities has its own dedicated article named Assigning Printing Priorities to Products  which discusses in detail about assigning Priorities to the Products

Assigning Printing Priorities to Products

  • Priorities can be assigned to each Product to define the sequence in which the Products will be printed when they are sold
  • Priorities for each Product can also be set per Product Sort - meaning that a Product can have a different Priority from one Product Sort to the next
    • This is taken into consideration when Product Sort is changed manually for a Product in SmartPOS; e.g., using the Print With Other Product Sort function
  • Products with the same Priority numbers within a Product Sort will be printed in the sequence they were selected in SmartPOS

  • To assign Printing Priority to Products, navigate to the Product Printing Priorities  tab in the BackOffice
  • Then select the desired Printing Priority from the list of available Printing Priorities and click on Edit Product Printing Priorities
    • Note: If the Printing Priority list is empty, then create a new Printing Priority
  • This will open the Product Printing Priority tab where Priorities can be defined for each Product for different Product Sorts
  • To get started with assigning the Priorities, select a Product Group from the Product tree located on the left side of the window
    • This will show the Products available in that Product Group
    • Note: The Product tree in the 'Product Printing Priority' tab only shows products which have been assigned a  Printer Profile
  • Enter a Priority number for desired products in the respective Printing Priority columns
  • Multiple Products within the same Product Sort can be assigned the same priority which would then print the Products with the same Priority in the sequence they were sold in SmartPOS
  • Once a number is entered in the Priority Printing column, it is auto-saved; Users do not have to save the priorities manually
  • To exit Printing Priorities, click on the 'Exit Priorities' button in the header
    • Note: Once a Priority Printing has been set up, it must be assigned to a respective Printer Format

Assigning Printing Priorities to Printer Formats

  • Printing Priorities can be assigned to a Printer Format which allows the Products to be printed in the desired order
  • The Managing Printing Priority article discusses in detail about Creating, Editing and Deleting Product Printing Priorities
  • Once a new Printing Priority is created, Priorities must first be assigned to desired Products and then the Printing Priority can be assigned to desired Printer Formats
  • To assign a Printing Priority to a Printer Format, navigate to 'Operational Setup' in Side Menu in BackOffice and click on 'Printer Formats'
  • Edit an existing Printer Format by selecting the desired Format and then clicking on 'Edit Printer Format' on the header
    • Note: If there are no Printer Formats, create a new Printer Format by clicking on   Add Printer Format
  • This will open the Printer Format Setup tab which has options to assign Printing Priority to the Printer Format
  • The options for Printing Priority are:
    • Printing Priority
    • Other Printers
      • Printer Sort Types
      • Detail Level

Printing Priority

    • For a Printer Format, the "Printing Priority" option is by default set to None
    • To assign a Printing Priority to the Printer Format, click the 'Printing Priority'  drop-down and select the desired Printing Priority from the available list

Other Printers

  • The 'Other Printers' option allows for controlling the extent of Product Details that are printed on the remote printers
  • With Other Printers option, Users can either select to print the Product Sort names or print the Product names along with the Sort names

Printer Sort Types

    • The Printer Sort Type drop-down will include all of the Product Sort types available
    • Using the selection option, Users can specify which Product Sort is printed on the remote printers and which Product Sort is excluded
      • For example, if a User doesn't want the "Beverages" Product Sort to be printed in any other printer, the Product Sort called "Beverages" can be excluded so that all the orders for "Beverages" are printed in its respective Printer only

Detail Level

    • 'Detail Level' option can be used to specify if the remote printers will print either the respective Products' Names or print Product Sort names
    • The 'None' option prints respective products on respective printers only and doesn't show any information about products from other remote Printers
    • The 'Print Sort' option only prints the Product Sort names on remote Printers
    • The 'Print Products' option prints the Product details along with Product Sort names on remote Printers
      • Click 'Save' to save the Printer Format settings
