About

    • QSR is a Kitchen Display System that we can integrate with in order to retrieve tables' orders to back-of-house displays and manage their progress from the time they're ordered at Tills until their completed and beyond
    • There are a number of system configurations that need to be completed including Database settings, Venue Maintenance, Workstation Maintenance, optional Product Maintenance, and optional Till Function Buttons,
    • Along with the QSR ConnectSmart KitchenServer running, the Bepoz SmartController must also be running
    • Additionally, the Bepoz application called KDSLink needs to be configured

    Prerequisites

    • Minimum Bepoz version of 4.6 is required for this functionality
    • To access KDS features and configuration options in BackOffice, the following Operator Privileges will need to be enabled
      • Operator Maintenance 'General' Tab
        • System Setup: "Access Venue, Stores & Tills" Flag
        • System Setup: "Maintain Venue, Stores & Tills" Flag
        • System Setup: "Maintain Till Function Maps" Flag
      • Operator Maintenance 'Maintenance' Tab
        • Products: "View Products" Flag
        • Products: "Edit Products" Flag
    • There are also a handful of QSR applications that must be configured and/or running for this integration to work
      • The majority of these should be on a computer in the back-of-house, manager's office, or similar secure location
      • Conversely, the Display Client will need to be running on any prep, line, expo, etc. screens that make up the full KDS

    Key Features

    QSR Applications

    • There is a program called ConnectSmart KitchenServer which must be running so that the Bepoz KDSLink application can connect to the Server
      • If this isn't running, the KDSLink application will be unable to connect to the QSR Server and the System will not function
    • There is another application called ConnectSmart Kitchen Builder Pro which is used for all of the QSR KDS configurations including Kitchen Settings and View Settings
      • Routing Categories and Routing Schemes set up in Kitchen Builder Pro will determine which Products appear on which KDS screens
      • There are dozens of other settings in Kitchen Builder Pro that can be used to style and set up the system's Display Clients
    • Lastly, an application called QSR Display Client will need to be configured using the ConnectSmart Kitchen Builder Pro
      • This is the actual application that Operators will interact with and will use in the kitchen
      • The Display Client will show Products that have been ordered through SmartPOS and can then be tracked and bumped

    System Setups

    • There is a separate Bepoz application called KDSLink which can be found in the Bepoz Programs directory (C:\Bepoz\Programs) and needs to be configured similar to how CALink is setup for Account Links
    • Within Database.exe, there is a flag on the "Set Registry Settings" tab called "Start KDSLink" which must be enabled
    • In BackOffice, there are a number of settings that will then need to be configured including the following:
      • "KDSLink - Kitchen Display" settings on the "External Links" tab of Venue Maintenance
      • Workstations that will be integrating will need to have the "Use KDSLink" flag enabled
      • Optionally, Product Preparation Times can be configured for each Product
      • Lastly, there are two (2) optional Till Functions -
        • "Rush Item" can be used to mark a particular product on KDS screens to be "fast-tracked"
        • "Item Trait" can be used to set a Product as "trait" on or off
