      7 | Redeeming a Voucher in SmartPOS

      This article outlines a how-to guide to redeeming Vouchers in SmartPOS. Vouchers can be issued and redeemed through SmartPOS so that Operators do not have to do so via BackOffice. Vouchers that are expired or disabled cannot be redeemed.

      This article outlines a how-to guide to redeeming Vouchers in SmartPOS.

        Vouchers can be issued and redeemed through SmartPOS so that Operators do not have to do so via BackOffice. Vouchers that are expired or disabled cannot be redeemed.

        Prerequisites 

        • To redeem Vouchers on SmartPOS, the following Operator Privileges will need to be enabled: 
          • Operator Maintenance 'Till Privileges' Tab
            • General: "Operate Tills" Flag

        How-To Redeem a Voucher

        • Vouchers are 'coupons' issued by businesses that can be used to get special discounts or to pay for Transactions
        • Customers must have a valid Voucher to be applied
        • To Redeem a Voucher, navigate to the Pricing / Discount Panel in the Till Function Map (or any other Panel where a Voucher Redeem Till Function has been added)
        • Click the Redeem Voucher Button which will prompt the Operator to either Enter or Scan a Voucher; the order will then be Repriced based on the Voucher details & configuration; e.g., apply a $5 discount, 10% off, a specific item reprice, etc.


        • The Redeem Voucher button can be located anywhere in the Panel and may not have a similar name as it can be edited from BackOffice according to the Organization's preferences
        • Enter the Voucher number (either manually or using an attached barcode scanner) and press OK
        • The Voucher will be applied and the price of the Transaction will be recalculated accordingly
        • In the above example, a voucher named '50% Off on All Desserts' has been used due to which the price of Apple Pie is reduced to half and the Product line in the Transaction window is displayed in teal color

        • Another instance of Voucher Redeem has been shown below where customers received a free product using a Voucher
        • Most of the time the Vouchers are issued for single use and the same voucher cannot be used multiple times, however, this depends on the specific Voucher configurations
