Return on Investment, or ROI, is a profitability measure that evaluates the performance of a business by dividing Net Profit by Net Worth.

Prerequisites

  • For an Operator to be able to access and run an Analysis Report within BackOffice, the Allow Analysis Reports flag within the Reporting tab of Operator Maintenance must first be enabled
  • If this flag is not enabled, an Operator cannot access ROIs, Cost Movements, and Other Reports


Return on Investment(ROI)

Accessing ROI Reports

      • Complete the following steps to access ROI Reports:
        1. Log in to BackOffice
        2. From the side menu, Select "Analysis Reports" to expand the list of Available Reports
        3. Select Return on Investment Report which will open a new ROI Report Window
        4. Select the required Product Group from the Product tree

      Reporting Options

      • Venue
        • Sets the Venue for which the report is generated
      • Store
        • Sets the Store for which the report is generated
      • Display Period
        • Sets the time period for which report will be generated
          • The time can be selected either by choosing specific Period or by choosing a particular shift 
      • Show 2nd Period
        • Will show a second Display period option to allow comparison
      • Inactive
        • Lists all the Products along with the Inactive ones
      • Additional configuration options in the Header can also be used to generate more specific report data

      Report View Options

      '_Return On Investment' View

      • This is one of the standard Views for the Report which contains an overview of the profits generated by each product
      • This View contains the following fields:

       

      Field

      Description

      Product Name
      • This gives the name of Product
      Item Volume
      • This shows the volume of the product
      Qty On Hand
      • This shows the current quantity of base size units relative to the Venue and Store settings in the header of the report
      CostEx OnHand
      • This shows the Cost excluding Tax value of the current Stock on Hand relative to the Venue and Store settings in the header of the report
      Average Qty OnHand
      • This shows the average quantity of base size units relative to the Venue and Store settings for the given period
      Average CostEx
      • This shows the Cost excluding Tax value of the current Stock on Hand relative to the Venue and Store settings for the given period
      Sold Qty
      • This shows the total quantity of product sold in the given period of time
      Sold Per Day
      • This shows the average quantity of items sold per day
      Stock Turns
      • The stock turns is the number of times stock has been sold or moved
      • i.e. (Sold Qty/Display Period (Exact number of Days))x 365/Avg Quantity on Hand = Stock Turns
      Return On Investment
      • This shows the total profit on Investment
      • i.e. Net sales Ex - Cost sold Ex - average cost Ex = Return on Investment
      • This view type do not contain 'ROI Factor' column which is the percentage value; However, this function is present in the system so operators can create a custom view adding the ROI Factor if the profit percentage is required instead of Dollar Value
      • ROI Factor formula= Net sales Ex - Cost sold Ex * 100  / average cost Ex
      Profit Ex Tax
      • This shows the total Profit excluding Tax

       

      • Operators can also create Custom Views by clicking on the 'View' button located in the Reporting Options
