2 | "Save Table Hold Fire" Till Function

This article outlines the "Save Table Hold Fire" Till Function and how it is used and configured in BackOffice. The Save Table Hold Fire function works similar to the standard Save Table function, however, when using this Function all Products whose Product Sort allows for Hold Fire Printing (this is configured in Venue Maintenance on the Tables Tab) won't be Printed to Remote Printers immediately and will be Held for Printing until a later time.

The Save Table Hold Fire function works similar to the standard Save Table function, however, when using this Function all Products whose Product Sort allows for Hold & Fire Printing (this is configured in Venue Maintenance on the Tables Tab) won't be Printed to Remote Printers immediately and will be Held for Printing until a later time.

Prerequisites 

  • To access Till Function Settings, the applicable Operator Privileges   will need to be enabled 
    • Operator Maintenance 'General' Tab
      • System Setup: "Maintain Till Function Maps" Flag

Initial Set-Up

  • Click on the desired Button space and then configure the Button Settings:
    • In the Button Text field enter the text that will display on the Till Function Button on SmartPOS Workstation screens
    • Set the Function drop-down to 'Tender & Payment'
    • Set the Sub-Function to 'Save Table Hold Fire'



Function-Specific Configuration Options

  • If desired, enter a corresponding number or combination of numbers into the Item field where:
    • "1" will Hold All Items
      • This will override the Product Sort selection in Venue Maintenance and will indeed Hold All Items regardless of their Product Sort
    • "2" will prompt the Operator to Enter the Time of Day that the Held Product/s will be Printed (or are intended to be ready for Service/Delivery if using the SubItem setting)
      • This is meant to be used for Delayed Orders
    • "4" will prompt the Operator to Enter the Date and Time that the Held Product/s will be Printed (or are intended to be ready for Service/Delivery if using the SubItem setting)
      • This is meant to be used for Delayed Orders
    • To configure multiple of the above options simply add the numbers together and enter into the field; e.g., to Hold All Items and prompt the Operator to enter the Time of Day that Held Product/s will be Printed, enter "3" into the field
  • Optionally, enter a Preparation Time in Minutes into the SubItem field which will be applied to the Held Products when using Ask Time of Day or Ask Date
    • The amount of Time entered will be detracted from the Delivery Time entered and will Print the Products that many minutes prior; e.g., if the Time of Day for a Delayed Order is entered is 5:00 PM and Preparation Time in Minutes is configured as 10 then the Held Products will be Printed at 4:50 PM to be ready for Service or Delivery at 5:00 PM
    • This is intended to be used when a Future Order is placed where the Pick-Up/Delivery/Service time can be entered and this amount of Time will be needed prior for Preparation, Cooking Time, Expediting, Travel, etc.
  • Enter text into the Key field which will appear on the SmartPOS Workstation prompts regarding Delayed Order Transactions; e.g., if "Breakfast" is entered into the field then the prompts will read "Breakfast Order"
