7 | "Set Oversell Qty" & "Set Daily Specials" Functions
This article covers an overview of the "Set Oversell Qty" Till Function and the "Set Daily Specials" Till Function and how they are used within SmartPOS. The Set Oversell Quantity Till Function can be used by an Operator to enter the remaining Quantity of Products (Non-Stocked) that are available to be sold - the Quantity on Hand (QOH). After an Oversell Quantity has been entered, warning prompts will appear as the entered QOH reaches zero.
This article covers an overview of the "Set Oversell Qty" Till Function and the "Set Daily Specials" Till Function and how they are used within SmartPOS.
The Set Oversell Quantity Till Function can be used by an Operator to enter the remaining Quantity of Products (Non-Stocked) that are available to be sold - the Quantity on Hand (QOH). After an Oversell Quantity has been entered, warning prompts will appear as the entered QOH reaches zero.
The Set Daily Specials Till Function allows an Operator to easily change the Name and/or Price of a Product from a SmartPOS Workstation to set up a Daily Special.
Prerequisites
Operator Privileges
- To access Oversell Features, the applicable Operator Privileges

- Additional privilege flags may need to be enabled if a particular Till Function is configured to require a "Till Button Privilege" which are numbered 1-7
Product Settings
- To set an Oversell Quantity for a Product, the Product must have the
OverSell Warning flag enabled - When this Flag is enabled, the Product will display a warning when the Stock TIlls 'Main Store' is equal or below the 'Warning Level' setting for the Venue
- To set Daily Specials for a Product, the Product must have the
Daily Special Flag enabled - When this Flag is enabled, the Product can easily have its Name and Price changed at the till using the 'Set Daily Specials' Till Function
Set Oversell Quantity
- After tapping on the Set Oversell Quantity Till Function button, a window will open displaying a list of valid Products for which Oversell Quantities can be entered
- Due to customization capabilities in Bepoz, this Function button may be located elsewhere and/or may be labeled differently
- To enter a new Oversell Quantity for a Product, either double-tap the Product or highlight the Product and tap the Enter Quantity button
- A window with a number pad will open allowing the Operator to enter the Quantity; enter the Quantity and tap OK
- If 999 is entered as a new Quantity, the Product will be understood to have no limit; no warning prompts or QOH will be displayed
- Repeat the previous steps until the Oversell Quantities have been set for all required Products
- Tap on the Post button to finalize the process and a confirmation prompt will display
- If an Operator attempts to sell a Quantity of a Product that is equal to or greater than the current QOH, a warning prompt will display
- After a Product's Oversell Quantity has been exhausted, a warning prompt will display to alert the Operator that the current Stock is zero
Set Daily Specials
- After tapping on the Set Daily Specials Till Function button, an Edit Product Details window will open displaying a list of valid Products which Daily Specials can be set up for
- This list will show both the Product Name of each Product and the current Price of each Product
- To edit a Product, either double-tap the Product or highlight the Product and tap the Edit Product button
- A window will open displaying an alphanumeric keyboard allowing the Operator to enter a new "Specials" Name for the Product
- After a Name has been entered, a window will open displaying a number pad allowing the Operator to enter a new Price for the Product
- The new Name and Price will display in the Edit Product Details window and any edited Product will be highlighted in green
- Repeat the previous steps for any additional Daily Specials and then tap the Post button
- The new Name and Price will now display in the Transaction Window when the Product is sold
