Updates to Seven Rooms

Version 4.7.3.0 included many enhancements to the SevenRooms interface - a list of these changes can be found in our  release notes.

When upgrading from an existing SevenRooms implementation, it is important to ensure the integrity of the device settings for the Transaction Queue device as well as the Till Extension device before continuing to use the interface in a live environment. It's also worth noting that we now have two methods of interfacing with SevenRooms. We offer a one-way sales interface, which removes the table management functionality within SmartPOS, and only pushes sales information to SevenRooms. We have also enhanced the two-way interface to offer a local cache for speedy retrieval of bookings, along with the ability to transfer non reservation tables to existing reservation tables allowing greater flexibility in venue operations.

There are further enhancements throughout the interface, further details can be found in the listed documentation.

BackOffice Setup

Two-Way Integration Overview

Our full integration with Seven Rooms offers the user maximum control over their seven rooms diary directly from SmartPOS.

To take advantage of these feature the following devices need to be created:

  • Seven Rooms Transaction Queue Device
    • This device should be configured on the Venue Server
    • One device required per venue
    • This device sends transactional information to SevenRooms, which uploads to the customer profiles
  • Till Extension Device
    • This device should be configured on each till that runs the interface
    • This device retrieves booking information and sends table updates to SevenRooms
  • Till Function button(s) need to be configured in BackOffice on the Workstation(s) Till Function Map to retrieve bookings from SevenRooms

Note: For the interface to work, table numbers should match between SevenRooms and Bepoz

One-Way Integration Overview

Our one-way integration with SevenRooms sends sales information to SevenRooms. There is no ability to update table statuses or retrieve booking information.

To implement the one-way SevenRooms integration, the following need to be configured:

  • SevenRooms Transaction Queue Device
    • This device should be configured on the Venue server
    • One device required per venue
    • This device sends transactional information to SevenRooms, which uploads to the customer profiles

Note: For the interface to work, table numbers should match between SevenRooms and Bepoz, and there should be no duplicate table numbers across mapped table groups

SmartPOS Functionality

  • Course Statuses such as Away and Served are sent to SevenRooms -
    • Courses must be configured within Table Settings for the Venue
