This article covers different types of Payment Options that are available within Bepoz system and the process of using them for SmartPOS transactions. There are multiple forms of Payment that are accepted using SmartPOS, including Cash, Credit Debit/EFTPOS, Check, and Account Charges. SmartPOS also offers "Fast Cash" solutions which will speed up Transaction time.

Payment Options Overview
- When an Operator is processing a Transaction from a SmartPOS Workstation, there are multiple Payment Options that can be used to finalize the Transaction
- When an Operator taps the Pay button at the bottom of the screen, a Payment Window will open displaying the various Payment options
- These options and their names/labels are customizable and will vary between Organizations depending on the Payment Methods accepted
- These options include common Credit Card Types, Cash, Debit/EFTPOS, Check, and Account Charges
- As an alternative to opening the Payment Window, there are Fast Cash options which an Operator can access directly from the Home screen
"Fast Cash" Panel Options
Denomination Buttons
- The Denomination buttons in the "Fast Cash" Panel are Preset buttons that are available for an Operator to use to speed up Transaction times
- For example, if a customer is paying using a $20 bill, the Operator simply needs to tap the "20" button; there is no need to open the Payment window
- Once the button is selected:
- The Cash Drawer will open
- The selected Denomination Amount and Change Due will display in the Transaction Window
- The Transaction will be finalized
- The values of the Denomination buttons can be customized to meet Country and individual Organizations' needs
- Denomination buttons can be edited within BackOffice under the System Setup menu, within Till Function Maps
Exact Cash Button
- The Exact Cash button in the Fast Cash Panel is only to be used when the customer is paying exact cash
- This is the fastest way to finalize a Transaction
- After tapping the Exact Cash button:
- The Cash Drawer will open
- The Cash Amount will display in the Transaction Window
- The Transaction will be finalized
- The Cash Button may have another Name as designated by your Bepoz Administrator
Payment Window Options
Cash
- The Cash button within the Payment Window can be used by an Operator any time that the customer is paying using Cash
- To improve Transaction times, the Operator can use the Fast Cash Keys as much as possible
- When an Operator taps the Cash Key within the Payment Window, they will be prompted to enter the Tender Amount that the customer has given them
- The Tender Amount will default to the Balance due
- To enter a different Amount, the Operator can use the attached Number Pad and then tap OK
- After tapping OK:
- The Cash Drawer will open
- The Cash Tendered Amount and Change Due will display in the Transaction Window
- The Transaction will be finalized
Credit Card
- An Operator can use an available Credit Card button within the Payment Window when a customer is paying using a supported Credit Card Type
- The Operator must select the button corresponding to the Credit Card Type that the customer wishes to use for Payment
- After tapping the Credit Card Type button, the Operator or customer will most likely be prompted to follow instructions on an integrated Payment Interface such as selecting an account and/or a PIN requirement
- Once the Tender has been Authorised:
- The Card Type and the Tendered Amount will display in the Transaction Window
- The Transaction will be finalized
Debit Card/EFTPOS
- The Debit/EFTPOS Payment Option will be similar to Processing a Transaction using a Credit Card, however, can also offer the customer an option for Cash-Out if configured for the Venue
- If configured, after tapping the EFTPOS Key, a prompt will appear offering for an optional Cash-Out Amount to be entered
- After tapping OK, the Operator or customer will be prompted to follow instructions on the Payment Interface
- Once the Tender has been Authorised:
- The Cash Drawer will open for Cash Out
- The total Tendered Amount will display in the Transaction Window including any Cash-Out Amount
- Any selected Cash-Out Amount will display in the Transaction Window
- The Transaction will be finalized
Cheque (Check)
- If the Organization accepts Checks as Payment, the Operator can use this Payment button when a customer is paying with a Check
- After tapping the Check button, the Operator will be prompted to enter the Check Tender Amount which will default to the Balance due
- After tapping OK:
- The Cash Drawer will open
- The Cheque Tendered Amount will display in the Transaction Window
- The Transaction will be finalized
Account Charge
- The Account Charge Payment Option can be used for Tendering a Payment to an Account
- If an Account has not already been attached to the Transaction, the Operator will need to follow these steps:
- To select the desired Account, tap the Account button at the top of the screen
- This will open a window prompting the Operator to select the desired Account; the Operator can navigate through the Account Group List, enter the Account Number, or search for an Account
- After an Account has been selected, the Account's information will display above the Transaction Window
- Once the Account has been selected for the Transaction, the Operator may proceed with Tendering the Transaction using an Account Charge
- After tapping the Account Charge button within the Payment Window:
- The Account Charge Tendered Amount will display in the Transaction Window
- The Transaction will be finalized
- The Operator will need the appropriate authorizations to Tender a Transaction to an Account Charge
The Account will need to have a Positive Balance or an available Credit Limit
Combination Tendering
- Combination Tendering is a procedure that can be used when a Transaction needs to be finalized with two (2) or more different Payment methods
- The Operator will need to follow one of the Payment Options from above, but not Tender the full Balance
- A prompt will then display warning the Operator that the Transaction has not been finalized
- The following example will demonstrate the Combination Tendering of a Transaction using Cash and a Credit Card
- Alternatively, any available Payment Methods can be combined to fully Tender Payment for a Transaction (barring any fringe-case scenarios such as with some External Payments)
- After selecting all of the Products for the Transaction, tap the Pay button to open the Payment Window
- Within the Payment Window, select the Cash Option which will open a window to Enter the Cash Tender Amount
- Enter a Cash Tender Amount that is less than the Balance due and tap OK
- A warning prompt will display informing the Operator that the Transaction has not been finalized; tap OK to continue
- Repeat the first step to re-open the Payment Window and select the appropriate Credit Card Type
- After tapping the Credit Card Type button, the Operator or customer will be prompted to follow instructions on the Payment Interface
- Once the Tender has been Authorised:
- The Cash Amount Tendered, the Card Type and the Tendered Amount will display in the Transaction Window
- The Transaction will be Finalized
