This article covers an overview of the Split Package Sales Flag and example usages within BackOffice.

The Split Package Sales flag will appear in the Flags section of the Product Settings tab of Product Maintenance only if the Product Mode is set to either Package Fixed or Package Selection.

Prerequisites

  • To access and manage Products, the applicable Operator Privileges   will need to be enabled:
    • Operator Maintenance 'Maintenance' Tab
      • Products: "View Products" Flag
      • Products" Edit Products" Flag
    • Operator Maintenance 'Reporting' Tab
      • Sales Reports: "Allow Cash Reports" Flag
      • Sales Reports: " Allow Product Reports" Flag

"Split Package Sales" Flag

  • When this flag is enabled, the Sale amount of the Package Product will be prorated among the Package's Sub-Products in relation to their Normal Price relative to one another

Example

Products

  • Using the example from just above:
    • The Package Fixed Product called "Burger Bud Combo" contains two (2) fixed Products - a Cheese Burger and a single Bottle of Beer
    • This Package Fixed Product has a Normal Price of $10.00
    • The Package's individual Products have Normal Prices of $10.00 for the Cheese Burger and $5.00 for the Bottle of Beer; i.e. a 2:1 ratio for the Sale Price which will be noted when prorating the Price of the Package Product

Reports

  • When the Package Fixed Product is sold for $10.00, that amount will be prorated to the individual Products as follows:
    • $6.67 for the Cheese Burger
    • $3.33 for the Bottle of Beer
    • NB: this keeps the 2:1 Price ratio to confirm that the Price of the Package Product is being prorated accurately

Till Balance

  • As can be seen in the  Till Balance Report  after 1 (and only 1) of the Package Products is sold, the Total Sales amount of the Package is split/prorated amongst the individual Product's Sort Types, Sort Groups, etc.

Product Summaries

  • Furthermore, the  Product Summaries Report  will also show the Total Sales amount of the Package Product split/prorated amongst the individual Products
