39 | "Table ReOpen Closed Today" Sub-Function

This article outlines the "Table ReOpen Closed Today" Sub-Function, how it is configured in BackOffice, and how it can be used in SmartPOS. The "Table ReOpen Closed Today" Sub-Function allows the Operator to to re-open a table that has been closed in the current trading day. This Sub-Function is typically used for making changes to the payment type or tip amount of the already closed table.

The "Table ReOpen Closed Today" Sub-Function allows the Operator to to re-open a table that has been closed in the current trading day.

This Sub-Function is typically used for making changes to the payment type or tip amount of the already closed table.

Prerequisites 

  • To access Till Function Settings, the following Operator Privileges will need to be enabled: 
    • Operator Maintenance 'General' Tab
      • System Setup: "Maintain Till Function Maps" Flags
  • To use this Till Function in SmartPOS, the following Operator Privileges will need to be enabled:
    • Operator Maintenance 'Till Privileges' Tab
      • General: "Operate Tills" Flag 

Initial Set-up

  • Click on the desired Button space and configure the Button Settings: 
    • In the Button Text field enter the text that will display on the Till Function Button on SmartPOS Workstation Screens 
    • Set the Function drop-down to 'Tables & Accounts' 
    • Set the Sub-Function to 'Table ReOpen Closed Today'



Function-Specific Configuration Options 

  • If required, enter a corresponding number or combination of numbers into the Item field where: 
    • Entering the corresponding Table Group Number will open Tables belonging to that Table group when the Function is selected 
  • Enter a corresponding number into the SubItem field where:
    • "1" will allow Alphanumeric tables to be used
  • The Key field is the Table Number or Start Table Number that will be allocated when a Table is opened 
    • This field will only be active if "1" or "4" is used in the SubItem Field 
    • If the current Table that is assigned in the Key Field is not available, it will then be assigned the next available table incrementally

SmartPOS Example

  • After selecting the "Table ReOpen Closed Today" Sub-Function, a List of all the tables that were closed on the current trading day will be displayed
  • The operator can then select a table from the list to re-open
