23 | "Table Transfer Alpha" Sub-Function

This article outlines the "Table Transfer Alpha" Sub-Function, how it is configured in BackOffice, and how it can be used in SmartPOS. Similar to the "Table Transfer" function, the "Table Transfer Alpha" Sub-Function allows for Table Transfer; however, using this function Table names can contain Alphanumeric Characters. It is common in hospitality environments where occasionally Products that have been placed on one Table will need to be redirected to another Table.

Similar to the "Table Transfer" function, the "Table Transfer Alpha" Sub-Function allows for Table Transfer; however, using this function Table names can contain Alphanumeric Characters. It is common in hospitality environments where occasionally Products that have been placed on one Table will need to be redirected to another Table.

Prerequisites 

  • To access Till Function Settings, the applicable Operator Privileges will need to be enabled 
    • Operator Maintenance 'General' Tab
      • System Setup: "Maintain Till Function Maps" Flag
    • Operator Maintenance 'Till Privileges' Tab
      • General: "Operate Tills" Flag 
      • Tables: "Create New Tables" Flag
  • To access and use this Till Function within SmartPOS, the following Operator Privileges will need to be enabled
    • Operator Maintenance 'Till Privileges' Tab
      • Tables: "Table Sales" Flag

Initial Setup 

  • Click on the desired Button space and then configure the Button Settings:
    • In the Button Text field enter the text that will display on the Till Function Button on SmartPOS Workstation screens
    • Set the Function drop-down to 'Tables & Accounts'
    • Set the Sub-Function to 'Table Transfer Alpha' 



Function-Specific Configuration Options

  • Enter a corresponding number in the Item field where:
    • Numbers from zero to seven (0-7) will select a specified Table Group that the new Table (Transfer-In) will belong to
  • If required, enter the corresponding number in the Key Field where: 
    • The number will be the preset Table Number when a Table Transfer is required

SmartPOS Example

  • After selecting the "Table Transfer" Function, the Operator can then select a new Table Number for the Transfer and enter it using an alphanumeric keyboard
