30 | "Table WalkOut" Sub-Function

This article outlines the "Table WalkOut" Sub-Function and how it is configured in BackOffice. The "Table Walkout" Sub-Function is designed to close Tables and Report a Balance Loss on the Till. This Function is used when Customers receive their Order but leave without paying their Bill.

The "Table Walkout" Sub-Function is designed to close Tables and Report a Balance Loss on the Till. This Function is used when Customers receive their Order but leave without paying their Bill.

Prerequisites

  • To access Till Function Settings, the following Operator Privileges will need to be enabled: 
    • Operator Maintenance 'General' Tab
      • System Setup: "Maintain Till Function Maps" Flags
  • To use this Till Function in SmartPOS, the following Operator Privileges will need to be enabled:
    • Operator Maintenance 'Till Privileges' Tab
      • General: "Operate Tills" Flag 
      • Tables: "Table Sales" Flag
      • Tables: "Close Tables" Flag

Initial Setup

  • Click on the desired Button space and configure the Button Settings:
    • In the Button Text field enter the text that will display on the Till Function Buttons on SmartPOS Workstation screens
    • Set the Function drop-down to 'Tables & Accounts'
    • Set the Sub-Function to 'Table WalkOut" 



Function-Specific Configurations 

  • Enter a corresponding number into the Item field where:
    • "1" will prompt the Operator to enter a Reason for the Table Walkout

SmartPOS Example

  •  When the Table Walkout Sub-Function is selected within a Table Transaction, it will then be closed and the Loss Amount will then be displayed within the Product Transaction Menu 
  • Depending on the Function Specific Configurations, the Operator will then be prompted to enter the reason for the Table walkout
