About

The Unicard Payment System interface supports Universities that utilise Unicard in allowing University ID Card Holders to use their University ID Card to pay for Transactions at SmartPOS using multiple account types (wallets on the Card)
This provides Card Holders with the ability to present their Card to the Unicard PinPad to view their account(s) information on SmartPOS and also to pay for their Transactions using an available Unicard Balance
The setup for this interface involves configuring an External Payment Link Device as well as defining an External Payment for the system to use

Prerequisites

To access setup components, the applicable Operator Privileges will need to be enabled

Operator Maintenance 'General' Tab

System Setup: "Access Venue, Stores and Tills" Flag
System Setup: "Maintain Venue, Stores and Tills" Flag
System Setup: "Maintain Global Settings" Flag

To access features in SmartPOS, the applicable Operator Privileges will need to be enabled

Operator Maintenance 'Till Privileges' Tab

General: "Operate Tills" Flag

BackOffice Setup

Simply add an External Payment definition to the system which will then be used with this interface
Then, quick and easy configuration of a "Unicard Payments" External Payment Link Device
Additionally, an External Payment Till Function button will need to be added to the payment options that will be accessible in SmartPOS for Operators to choose from
After configuring and saving the External Payment Link Device, ensure that SmartController is restarted and Unicard Payments will then be able to be accepted via SmartPOS assuming that the Unicard PinPad is connected correctly to the corresponding Port as configured in the Device's Communication Settings

SmartPOS Functionality

To begin, a Unicard ID Card Holder will need to place their Badge Card in the appropriate position on the PInPad device and enter their PIN
Then, when completing the Transaction, Operators can select the External Payment Till Function Button to account for payment of the Transaction which will then report to the configured External Payment Number

As with other External Payments, Unicard Transactions will appear accordingly on Till Balance Reports for review
