      3 | Utopia Gaming Interface SmartPOS Usage

      This article covers SmartPOS usage examples for the Utopia Gaming Interface. Once the Utopia Interface has been configured in BackOffice and the CALink Setup has been completed, Operators can retrieve Member Accounts via SmartPOS. In Backoffice, the Accounts can be automatically created/updated based on a defined tier level - if configured to do so.

      This article covers SmartPOS usage examples for the Utopia Gaming Interface.

      Once the Utopia Interface has been configured in BackOffice and the CALink Setup has been completed, Operators can retrieve Member Accounts via SmartPOS. In Backoffice, the Accounts can be automatically created/updated based on a defined tier level - if configured to do so.

      Prerequisites

      • For an operator to be able to use Utopia Gaming Interface, following privileges must be enabled
        • Operator Maintenance 'Till Privileges' Tab
          • Enable General: 'Operate Tills' Flag
      • The operator should be able to complete the required CALink and BackOffice Setup for Utopia Gaming Interface  Utopia Gaming CALink Interface and BackOffice Setup

      SmartPOS Workflow

      Retrieving Member Accounts and Earn Points

      • Swipe the customer's card at the till and SmartPOS will retrieve the Account information via CALink
        • The Account will automatically be created/updated in BackOffice at the correct Tier Level
      • The Operator can then view and use the Account Balance for transactions and the Account can Earn and Redeem Points



      • When completing the transaction, select Pay and the payment screen will display with the required amount to be paid; select the appropriate payment method and continue to close the transaction



      • The same Account can now be open at SmartPOS to verify the Points earned by the Account member for the transaction made earlier



      Redeem Points

      • Swipe the customer's card at the till and SmartPOS retrieves the Account information via CALink
      • This displays the Account details including the available Points balance which can be redeemed
      • Make a transaction and click on 'Redeem Points for CashValue' to redeem the points (this Till Function button may labeled differently)
        • If the 'Redeem Points for CashValue' sub-function is not configured, please setup by following    "Redeem Points for Cash Value" Sub-Function
