Products on a menu will display and can be purchased at any time during operating hours if set to display in the Products section of Admin Backpanel and sufficient stock is available. The Menu feature in Admin Backpanel restricts the availability of select products to desired hours.

Products on a menu will display and can be purchased at any time during operating hours if set to display in the Products section of Admin Backpanel and sufficient stock is available. The Menu feature in Admin Backpanel restricts the availability of select products to desired hours. If a menu item is added for one or more ordering options that the product is available for (e.g, Product may be available for Delivery), then the product’s product category must now be included on at least one or more menus or it will no longer display for that ordering option(s). For example, Bacon and Egg muffin (Breakfast item) might be available only from 8am to 10am Monday to Sunday.  The operator may restrict its product availability using a Breakfast Menu.

By clicking “Menus” in the navigation menu you will enter the menus section. This screen shows the list of the menus that were created and daily schedule that can be assigned to them for each ordering option.

PLEASE NOTE: If no menus have yet been added by the operator, products will display according to the operating hours of the business as set in the Times section (Refer to Sect 1.1 ) and the ordering options for which it displays (Refer to Sect 4.3 View and Update Products).

Add a New Menu

By clicking on “Add” in the top-left of the Menus screen, the New Menu page will open.

The fields available are explained in the table below:

Name
Name of the menu that will be displayed in to the Admin Backpanel operator.
Product Category
List of Product Categories available to include in the menu.  Click the ‘‘ button against a category to make it display as ‘  ‘, thereby removing all the Products in that Product Category in YourOrder from the menu. Conversely, if the ‘‘ button displays against a Product Category then all the Products in that category will display according to the rules in the current menu
OK
Saves the Menu with the current configuration and reopens the Menu list page
Cancel
Reverts the Menu to its previous configuration and reopens the Menu list page
Schedule Times (View Only)
Clicking on an Ordering Option tab displays the preferred days and times that the products in the given menu display to customers.  Note: This section does not display when creating a new menu.

Set Up Menu Time

On the right side of the Menu page, tabs for every ordering option display, along with a field to apply a default menu to the selected ordering option, a widget to copy the schedule configuration across to the remaining ordering options, a list of the days of the week with start and end time fields, a menu selection dropdown and an add a timeslot button. By clicking to add a timeslot, new start and end time fields will open for the Admin Backpanel user to fill in. Once the operator has selected their preferred tab and updated fields in the schedule, Save and Cancel buttons will appear to add the current ordering option schedule to the relevant menu(s).

All unassigned times within a schedule are allocated a default menu. To change them, use the default menu field located above the schedule section on each ordering type. The field will have a dropdown with existing options. Select one and click apply to finalise. If the existing menus do not meet a certain criterion, users may need to add a new one. The new changes will only apply to one ordering type, so each service will need to be modified separately.

Save schedule configuration and default menu

Clicking on the Save button will update the ordering option schedule in the preferred menu(s).  An additional widget will then display allowing the operator to elect to apply the current configuration to additional ordering options. The operator may click the Apply button after selecting another ordering option to Save the configuration for that option as well.  Note: the current ordering option was saved already and is therefore disabled in the selector.

Send schedule configuration to another ordering option

After the schedule for the preferred menu(s) is added for the desired ordering options, the Scheduled Times in the menu can be reviewed by double clicking on the Menu in the Menu list.  Note that a prompt may display that page is being left and changes will not be saved which can be ignored by clicking the OK button.

Double click the Menu item

Scheduled times will only display for the applicable ordering options (in this case Dine In)

PLEASE NOTE:
(i) When using the menu feature an additional general menu with scheduled times from the store opening time to the store closing time for each ordering option must be added for all products that do not have restricted times so that these products are on the default menu. Otherwise these products will never display to users who visit the retail website.

(ii) The retail website will display a warning message to customers 15 minutes before transitioning to a new menu that the next menu will be applied.  If the customer selects an item which is not included in the new menu and the 15 minutes elapses, a message will display to alert the customer and that item will be removed from the cart.
