      27 | Workstation Maintenance "Flags/Other" Tab

      This article covers an overview of the "Flags/Other" Tab for Workstation Maintenance which provides dozens of flags that control everything from Workstation Reporting to how the SmartPOS Workstation behaves when it comes to various aspects of the operation. The Till Flags section contains flags which are more or less general settings regarding the operation of the Workstation. The Widgets section provides functionality relating to the Widgets Bar on the SmartPOS Workstation's login screen.

      This article covers an overview of the "Flags/Other" Tab for Workstation Maintenance which provides dozens of flags that control everything from Workstation Reporting to how the SmartPOS Workstation behaves when it comes to various aspects of the operation.

      The Till Flags section contains flags which are more or less general settings regarding the operation of the Workstation.

      The Widgets section provides functionality relating to the Widgets Bar on the SmartPOS Workstation's login screen.

      Optionally, control reporting on days without activity if the activity is expected.

      And lastly, select additional information to appear on the Till Balance Report for the SmartPOS Workstation.

      Prerequisites
      • To access Workstation Settings, the applicable Operator Privileges   will need to be enabled 
        • Operator Maintenance 'General' Tab
          • System Setup: "Access Venue, Stores & Tills" Flag 
          • System Setup: "Maintain Venue, Stores & Tills" Flag 
      Till flags

       

      • The Till Flags sections contains a number of flags that control various functions and options for the individual SmartPOS Workstations
       

      Flag

      Description
      Auto LogOff
      • When this flag is enabled, this SmartPOS Workstation will log off the Operator after each Transaction
      Timed LogOff
      • If this flag is enabled, this SmartPOS Workstation will log off the Operator after inactivity for a period set within Global Settings on the Main tab in the Timers section (Timed Logoff Secs)                                                                                        
        • This will not happen if a Transaction is in progress
      CashOut OK
      • If this flag is enabled, this SmartPOS Workstation will allow for performing the Cash Out function via Eftpos/Debit
      Drawer Closed
      • When enabled, this flag will require that the Cash Drawer be closed prior to starting a new Transaction
        • A warning message will be displayed if the Drawer is still open when starting a new Transaction and also 15 seconds after a Transaction is finalized
      • The configured Drawer must support sensing whether or not it's open
      Gaming Drawer
      • When this flag is enabled, this will allow Gaming Cash Control Function for the 2nd Drawer
      • Also when enabled, Delivery/Pickup Print Formats turn into Gaming Formats
      Use ResLink
      • If enabled, this SmartPOS Workstation can charge Transactions to an External Charging System
        • An External Charging System must be set up in the System
      Use CALink
      • If this flag is enabled, this SmartPOS Workstation can use Points from an External Gaming System
        • An External Gaming System must first be set up in the System
      Use Till DateTime
      • By default (if this flag is disabled) when a Transaction is started, the Date & Time of the Transaction are set by the Smart Controller Date & Time
      • When this flag is enabled, the Date & Time of the Transaction are set by the SmartPOS Workstation's Date & Time
      Table Sales Only
      • When this flag is enabled, this SmartPOS Workstation cannot perform Transactions that are not Table Sales
        • I.e., Cash Sales & Account Sales will not be permitted
      Get Bistro Number
      • If this flag is enabled, this SmartPOS Workstation will request a sequential number from the server to be printed on the Receipts
      • This is commonly used to give the Customer a number that is called when the order is ready
      Redeem Points
      • When enabled, this SmartPOS Workstation will allow for Redeeming Account Points for Products and/or Cash
      Ask Soft Meters
      • If enabled, this SmartPOS Workstation will ask for a Soft Meter reading from the Gaming Machine
      Ask Confirm
      • When this flag is enabled, this SmartPOS Workstation requires confirmation for Gaming Functions
      Ask Signature
      • This flag is intended only to be used for Gaming and will require capturing a Player's signature
      Ask for Drawer #
      • If this flag is enabled, the SmartPOS Workstation will request the Drawer Number the Operator is using when they first log on for a shift
        • All Transactions performed by the Operator will then be added to the Drawer Number
        • If the Operator uses another SmartPOS Workstation, the Drawer Number will be requested
      Ask Postcode
      • If enabled, the SmartPOS Workstation will request entry of the Customer's postal code prior to Payment
      No Condiments
      • When enabled, this SmartPOS Workstation will never display Condiments
        • Optionally, the No Condiment flag can be set for individual KeyMaps; the two flags will work as an "or" function
      No Offline Modes
      • If this flag is enabled, the SmartPOS Workstation can't go into any Offline Mode and must always be connected to the server
      No StandAlone
      • When enabled, Stand Alone Mode is not available
      No IP Fix Prompt
      • By default (if this flag is disabled) when the SmartPOS Workstation starts it checks if its IP Address matches the setting in the Database and if the IP Address is different, the Operator would be prompted to change the IP Address of the device to match the Database
      • If this flag is enabled, the aforementioned prompt will not display
      Skip Printer Ping
      • If this flag is enabled, the SmartPOS Workstation will not first test a Printer with a Ping prior to sending a Print Job
        • This may prevent false failures in unstable networks, but may lead to long timeouts if the computer is trying to send to is not turned on
      Price on ProdMap
      • When this flag is enabled, Prices will be displayed on Product Buttons on the SmartPOS Workstation's Product Key Maps
        • There are conditions that must be met in order for the Price to be displayed:
          • The Product Button Type must be for an individual Product; i.e., not a Product Group or a Keylist
          • A specific Size must be configured for the Product; i.e., not set to "Select Size"
      • NB: The Normal Price will be shown for the Product & Size configured
      • If the Product's Normal Price Mode is set to "Zero Price", the Price will display on the button as "$0.00"
      • If the Product & Size configured to the button are part of an active Promotion, the Promotional Price will be displayed
      • When applicable, Account/Member Pricing will display as designated by the Member's Pricing Policy

      Use KDSLink
      • A KDS integration must first be set up for this flag to be relevant or to have an effect when enabled
      • This flag controls whether or not the Till will be able to send orders to a KDS integration
      • If enabled and a KDS integration is set up, orders from the Workstation will be sent to the KDS
      • Disable this flag if orders from the Till should not go to the KDS
      Do Not Display Account Photos
      • When an account is attached at SmartPOS to make a transaction and if this flag is enabled, it does not display the account holder's photo on the Specific Workstation for which the flag is enabled
      • When an account is attached at SmartPOS to make a transaction and if this flag is disabled, it displays the account holder's photo on the Specific Workstation for which the flag is disabled

       

      Widgets

      • These flags are only applicable when the Flat Till Scheme is being used
        • This is set via Global Settings on the SmartPOS Scheme Tab

      Visual/s
      Show Menu
      • If this flag is enabled, the Widget Bar will be displayed on the login screen of the SmartPOS Workstation when the Flat Till Scheme is being used
      • If this flag is disabled, the remaining Widget flags are grayed-out as they are no longer applicable

       

         

        

       
      Exit SmartPOS
      • When this flag is enabled, the Exit SmartPOS Widget will display in the Widget Bar on the login screen of the SmartPOS Workstation
      • This will allow an authorized Operator to exit the SmartPOS software on the Workstation device

       

       
      Clocking
      • When this flag is enabled, the Clocking Widget will display in the Widget Bar on the login screen of the SmartPOS Workstation
      • This will allow Operators to toggle to the Clocking function
      • When in utilizing the Clocking function, the Number Pad buttons change color and the Widget button's logo also changes and can now be selected again to toggle back to the standard log in function

       

       

       

       

       

      Activity

      • This section is used to select the days that this SmartPOS Workstation is expected to be used by enabling the flag for each corresponding day of the week
      • If the Report Days Without Activity flag is enabled and no activity is recorded for a day that the SmartPOS Workstation is expected to be used, an audit will be generated
      Reporting

      • The Reporting flags control whether or not the corresponding information will appear on the Till Balance Report for this SmartPOS Workstation

      Print Store Balance
      • If this flag is enabled, when a Till Balance Report is run for this SmartPOS Workstation, it will include the Total Balance for all Tills in the Store                                                                                                                                                             
      Incl. Types
      • When enabled, the Till Balance Report for this SmartPOS Workstation will include the Product Type Totals at the bottom of the printout
      Incl. Type Groups
      • When enabled, the Till Balance Report for this SmartPOS Workstation will include the Product Type Group Totals at the bottom of the printout
      Incl. Sorts
      • When enabled, the Till Balance Report for this SmartPOS Workstation will include the Product Sort Totals at the bottom of the printout
      Incl. Sort Groups
      • When enabled, the Till Balance Report for this SmartPOS Workstation will include the Product Sort Group Totals at the bottom of the printout
      Hide Balance Info
      • If enabled, the Balance info will not be shown by default on Till and Operator Balance printouts from this Till
      Hide Account Info
      • When enabled, Account info will not be shown on printouts from this Till
      Hide Misc. Info
      • If this flag is enabled, Miscellaneous info will not be shown on printouts from this Till
      Hide Cash Totals
      • When enabled, Cash Totals will not be shown on printouts from this Till
      Show Tips Payout
      • When this flag is enabled, Tip details will be included in the Till Balance and Operator Balance Reports
